In August i called them and ask Greg if he could make me a key for my car. He said yes for around $200. He said he would make a key but would have to remove my ignition take it to his store to make the key and bring it back. After waiting over 3 hours he showed up and told me sorry he would take $40. Which would make it around $160 now. So he took him like 5 hours of him trying to get the ignition out but when he did he broke the ignition. So he went and got a new ignition and put it in after around 4 days. After he fixed it he told me the price was now $375.13. He made me pay for the ignition he broke. Which in the end of us going back and forth i paid. Now today my key is stuck in the ignition because the cars antilock system lock my car up because he didn't put my ignition in right. I tried to call his store and they told me he is not there. I called his cell 5136789399 and i ask him if he could come and see what is wrong he curse me out. I just want him to fix what he did.

I was told the only problem was a lost key. When I arrived the ****** SUV was parked crooked and sideways on a mountain / boulder at least 30 degrees off level. I slipped and fell at least 20 times in the multiple times I needed to go to my van to get more and more tools. The steering wheel was locked up tighter than I have ever experienced. No tension can be on the wheel when trying to pick the ignition to the proper position needed to remove it. Using my knee to ease the tension on the wheel I eventually picked it to the proper position to remove the ignition. At that point the ignition fell right out without having to reach into the access hole with a tool to push the retainer thus allowing the ignition to release for removal. Upon further inspection it was easy to see that ignition retainer and spring along with the hardened steel block used to activate the key buzzer. Absolutely impossible unless someone else attempted to work on the ignition before I arrived and removed the ignition not knowing what to do next. I had no choice but to purchase a new uncoded ignition (as it was explained to them). Also the battery was dead. Using the tumblers still in tact in the original ignition along with adding cuts to the key allowing it to also work the door locks I was able to make an original and functional key along with properly installing the new ignition. I jump started the vehicle everything was fine except the dead battery issue.

I certainly agree that the ignition purchased from **** **** was at least 600% higher it should have been and the reason I sold it for what I paid for it and gave them the receipt.

Even though I lost hundreds on the job I offered her a free $60 remote if she stopped by my shop for me to program it. I called her every week to remind her but she said she could not get the car started as the battery was never replaced and could not start the car.

The car had a federally mandated safety feature built in so the key will not turn all the way off while the car was in drive. When the vehicle is shifted to park after it is stopped a solenoid is activated, pulling the safety pin from the ignition and allowing it to shift to park. With a dead battery the solenoid could not get the proper voltage to activate the solenoid and that is why the key will not turn all the way off and of course the key will not.

When they finally install a healthy battery I will be happy to resolve any issues with the ignition and program a free remote.

Bottom line: things go much better when the customer tells the truth from the very beginning.

      Better Business Bureau:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, reasons for rejection are included below.
If the position of my car was a problem or the steering wheel was a problem then you should have not accepted the job. My car was just find before you touch it and you know that. All i wanted was for you to make me a key. You kept doing stuff to my car untill you broke the ignition out.I ask you over and over if everything was ok because it was taking so long and you said yes.You know you broke it and when i tried to talk to you you cursed at me. I was always nice to you. I hope i never see you again. I wish i could get my money back that i deserve but i know that will not happen. But hopefully this helps the next person you try to ripe off because obviously you don't know what your doing.

      Regards,

      ******* ******
