Contractor was hired for a bathroom renovation project. He caused increased damage, broke new items purchased and did not replace, did not complete the work requested, and installed flooring, sink, pipes, and shower/tub incorrectly and refused to correct the work. There are several gaps in the floorboards, the sink placement is 3ft off-centered. The pipes for the shower were only installed going up 3.5ft and none of the fixtures are stable. Wall was not sealed leading to additional water damage. Contractor has harassed us for several months sending discriminatory letters through the mail and leaving harassing voicemails.Business response

To Whom It May Concern:
On December 1, 2022, **** ********* signed a contract with me for work to be done at *** ******** ***** **********. This is one of her rental properties where her granddaughter, ****** ******, resides. We negotiated the price down from the original $7,555 to $6,000. On February 15, 2023 **** ********* paid $2,000 with ch.no. 5251. Since there was still $4,000 owing, I sent an invoice every month to request payment.
Everything *** ****** referred to in her complaint is untrue. They had furnished inferior product which they insisted I use for the project. None of these issues ever came up while I was working on the job, or at any time since then. *** ****** wanted the 3.5 ft. wall and I waterproofed it. There should be no issue with water damage. The floorboards were glued down so there were no gaps. All her complaints are untrue, with the exception of the fact that I did not complete the job because I couldn't put any more of my own money into the project as they were not paying me. *** ****** threw me off the project, not allowing me to retrieve my tools and materials. The harassment she speaks of is my sending her an invoice every month trying to get the money owed to me. She didn't give me the opportunity to let her pay in increments, which I would have done.
After 45 years in my practice, I've never had a complaint.
