Crew Plumbing was supposed to remodel my bathroom. Jake W**** (the owner) started the job on Sunday, October 16th. He removed toilet and vanity and put down new floor. There were many errors in the way the floor was laid but he said he could cover it up. Re-installed toilet and new vanity was put in place, water hooked up, but vanity not secured to wall and sink not secured to vanity. He also put up lights. There is a list of 13 things that still needed to be completed. He said he would return on Thursday to finish the job since according to him the floor had to 'set' before completing. I paid him the rest of what I owed him plus a little extra to cover the cost of some electrical work he was going to do.. Altogether he was paid $1,401.20. $551.20 as a deposit by check and the other $850 in cash. He never showed up on Thursday and I called to find out what happened and was told he was on another job and he would come on Sunday, October 23rd to finish up. Again, he never showed up and never called. Then on Monday the 24th he was involved in a car accident. Morgan called to tell me this and offered to either refund my money or find another sub-contractor for me. I told her I wanted $700 of the payment back, which was more than fair. After several attempts to receive this money, they are now no longer accepting phone calls (voicemail full). I now have to find someone to complete the job, plus I had to buy a new floor to replace the one he put down, which was an additional $300. I have talked to Morgan several times and left several messages but now there is no response. I would like to recoup at least $700 although I should be asking for almost all of it back since nothing was really completed. The link to the job quote is no longer active.
