I applied to ********* apartments on Anderson ferry road, Cincinnati Oh, 45238 on the 24th at 10:30pm. Called Monday and asked about my application. She said everything looked great. But to proceed, I needed to do a $200 security deposit and then they verify everything from there. So Monday night, I sent the security deposit. Called that Tuesday and left a voicemail and followed up with an email stating I did the security deposit hold and wanted to make sure it was received. She emailed back Tuesday evening at 4:45p stating she got the voicemail and deposit and said “I do still need to contact your landlord and get rental verification but as long as that is good your application will Be approved”. I stated I needed a top unit as well. Well come Thursday evening around 4pm she called and left a voicemail and said she just spoke with my landlord and that I was approved but she only had a ground unit available. I said I really don’t want a ground unit due to issues I’m having now and I asked about the deposit and she said if I don’t want the unit the deposit gets refunded.” So I called the very next morning (Friday) and followed up with an email stating I can’t do another ground unit and asked did I need to pick up the deposit or doesn’t it just go back into my account. Then got this email today stating that Because I didn’t cancel by that Tuesday I forfeit the $200. Long before I even knew if I’d be approved. But I stated Tuesday the type unit I wanted and nothing was expressed as to what was available. She could’ve told me right then and I could’ve cancelled. Also paid a $50 application fee just to apply so out $250 in less than a week!
