We have, unfortunately, had to visit this facility twice this summer. Both times we couldnt have asked for more competent, kind care. The facility is beautiful and clean. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. They really took time to listen to our concerns regarding our pup. Our last visit resulted in the diagnosis of an autoimmune disease but we left feeling confident in his treatment plan and outlook due to the care we received at Care Center. 100% would not go anywhere else for emergent vet care.

The place is ridiculous. Rather than waste too much time with the details the experience was as such. My dog was having sneezing fits along with mucus discharge from her nostrils. I was told that she needed a CAT scan and biopsy from her nasal passage and $5k later they determined it was allergies and she needed to take Zyrtec. Somehow I feel that shouldve been tried first. Side note, when they released her to me she was bleeding out of her nose all over and just handed her to me. I had to go into the bathroom to get paper towels to clean it up. Truly clueless group of people.

If I could give no stars, I would. They place inept and uninformed people in positions they should not be. We were quoted an estimate and then requoted another estimate via phone a few days later when additional services were deemed needed. I was told by the person who called that this was a replacement cost estimate for the original quote. To my surprise, when I went to pay my credit card bill and saw three charges from the Care Center in Cincinnati, one of which was over $4,000 and unexpected, I called to question it. The gal I spoke with couldn't figure it out and told me the finance person would look into it and call me back the next day. When the finance person called me back, I knew immediately I was getting the runaround. She went into a TMI explanation of things that didn't matter (an attempt at misdirection) and told me she had every faith that the person who called me with a new estimate explained it correctly and that the additional $4,000 would stand. We aren't sorry our pet was administered medical care. We'd come to her aid again, so that is not the point. The point of my concern is that the financials need to be better explained so the consumer understands. And please do not tell me that the person who called me did a great job explaining the financial situation; trust me, she didn't. At this point, I don't want any response back from anyone at this place. I will never use them again; frankly, I now understand why so many people malign them on the Nextdoor app.

What a money grabbing horrible place! The veterinarian was so spiteful from the minute I didn't agree with every single expensive treatment option. She wanted me to take. She was rude to me. She took longer than necessary for every single test. She wanted to keep my dog overnight even though all he needed was anti-nausea and TLC because they make more money. If they keep him he had no surgery to recover from. After I paid and got the paperwork, she made me wait in the lobby for my dog just because she could because she was full of spite. From the minute we went in to the minute we could finally leave it was ours an hours and the only reason was because she didn't like that I didn't sign up for her $2300 care package.!! My first inclination was to leave as soon as she started being rude, and I gave her the benefit of the doubt which was a huge mistake.

We aim to provide quality care while also informing pet parents of any treatment options available so they can make informed choices about their pets health. I took my 13 yr old dog to Care Center at 4:30 pm on Sat. That was his third day of not eating and was lethargic. He was taken to the back within the first hour of our arrival. I told the vet tech that I wanted x-rays and bloodwork taken. Throughout the evening, I was told he was being given fluids and was on oxygen. Before retirement, I was a vet tech so I was confused by the need for oxygen but if they felt the need for it, ok. About 11 pm I was finally told the results of his bloodwork which showed extremely elevated kidney levels. Why did it take so many hours to be told these results? I chose to take him home as I knew the results showed he was in kidney failure and I didn't believe he would make it through the night. The next day since he was still alive I made a last ditch effort by returning to Care Center. Whether it's for their pets or a loved one, people will grasp straws for a miracle. I arrived at 3:30 pm, told the receptionist that I was there the prior day and his elevated levels. With no expression, I was told to take a seat. I sat in that seat holding my dying dog until I was the only one in the waiting area. It was 1:00 am. My dog had then started labored breathing. I went to the front desk, said I knew it was then too late to do anything for my dog and why had I been ignored for nine hours? Twice during that time, a vet tech came out to "check vitals" on him and I was told each time, we were fourth in line. When I finally confronted them, I wasn't shouting but I admit I was "vigorously" informing them about their inhumane treatment of me and my dog. I was then told the police would be called on me if I didn't leave. Monday am when my regular vet opened their doors, I had my baby euthanized. I'm sure this will elicit a seemingly caring response from Care Center and my misinterpretation of events. My major regret is not complaining and being threatened with the police several hours earlier.

I ABSOLUTELY WOULD NOT TAKE ANOTHER ANIMAL THERE AND SUBJECT THEM TO THE NONSENSE THEY DISH OUT.Ok so they are supposed to be an EMERGENCY vet? So in emergencies do you get an appointment and wait at home for 4 hours? Then a text that theyre ready to see your Dog and then you proceed to wait for another hour or so before asking why they havent been seen just to be responded to they have had several critical cases? Funny only 2 people in an entire hour after we were there came in with animals with critical injuries. Guess what? My animals issue was critical also The next day after being seen by his regular vet he was dehydrated and needing meds and follow up. This was by far the worst experience I have ever had dealing with a veterinary hospital. Very disorganized and most of the employees were honestly just not very productive in their jobs. There was a lot of extra talking and goofing off going on while only a couple of people seemed to be doing the work. We finally had to go pick him up at 10PM that night and he still hadnt been seen by a Dr. 11 hours after the first contact with care center.I ABSOLUTELY WOULD NOT TAKE ANOTHER ANIMAL THERE AND SUBJECT THEM TO THE NONSENSE THEY DISH OUT.

I can't say enough good things about the Dayton Care Center. My little girl had suffered with stomach problems her entire life that all the vets she had been to couldn't diagnose. The Center Internist diagnosed her condition on the first visit and Lacey's life was considerable better thereafter. Between the Internist and the nursing staff, she became spoiled! One of the things that impressed me was that I received a text and picture each evening during her hospitalizations. Yes the Care Center is somewhat pricey but the staff competency and level of care is extraordinary and well worth it.

My original complaint was not posted (only accept billing for medical) Now my complait is missing from site. ***Alert*** they allowed my pet to suffer a painful slow death while they did NO treatment - only diagnostics to ring up the bill and 4 hrs after rushing him for hydration and EMERGENCY care all they did was provide an estimate of close to $10,000+made us put 1/2 down and proceeded to do more tests. We arrived there alerting them we had pet insurance and wanted intervention immediately. They determined he was a cash cow and kept doing more tests and torturing him all the while the vet met with us with a treatment plan. By the time they actually gave him an IV it was 8 hrs, too late for even the treatment he was so dehydrated! They forced us to leave him only after saying we could have stayed - one at a time and we rushed back... when he saw my husband he went into cardiac arrest due to the excitement bc they allowed him to become that dehydrated. They are greedy, inept and nothing like the Care Center of past years. They could have given my pet years of health as he was fairly young for his small breed and instead they decided instead to get as much money from us as possible. I'm sickened that anyone trusts this place with their pets. They had an expose' on **** but it became an ad for pet insurance. The owner looked guilty and sweaty and nervous! The staff knew they killed this patient they could have saved with their "estimate" business model and the pr person came at us - trying to make us go out with our dead baby through the loading dock. She literally started talking about her childhood dog with cancer and she "understood" ...I said we are going out of this place the way we came in with this baby in a bag frozen overnight. They relented. They knew we had insurance and would pay! We had been a patient for years and paid immediately for 3 pets! Why they chose to treat my baby like a used car in for service is total greed of a failing business. And evil!

I took my dog here on the recommendation of our vet as he had ingested sugar free gum that had xylitol. He had hypoglycemia and had a seizure. They were concerned with long term liver damage as well. We went there and we were quoted a range from $2,843 - $3,463 for a 48 hour stay. They required the entire minimum payment up front and told us that if he needed any extra care that would require more than the $2,843 that they would let us know. Spoke to them several times over the two days he was there and they continued to say he was doing great and he had no problems. When I went to pick him up after the 48 hours was up, low and behold I owe another $802! There was no mention of this whatsoever in any of our conversations with them. When I began to complain to the front desk attendant, the office manager ******** in and says "oh sorry it should only be the $3,463 that we were quoted. She then proceeded to hand me a line item expense that did not equal up to the $3,463 that they told me was the total. The line item charges also did not align at all with how they described his condition. We were told since the beginning that his blood glucose was fine after one treatment but they proceeded to give him 3 more at $100 each! I know businesses have to make money but the total lack of transparency as well as over prescribing medication which according to them he did not need is very un-ethical. I will never take another pet to this place and encourage all pet owners and vets to stay clear of this place as they will not treat you with respect and just rack up the bill as much as they can.
