I brought my car into Washington & Lee Auto on April 10, 2024 for idling/jerking.I was told a technician that the problem with my car was it needed a new timing chain, along with spark plugs, oil change, and pcv valve. After giving the okay to do the work, I gave them plenty of space to work on my car without interruptions of calling them. After 3 weeks I started to call more. I found it odd to NEVER receive a call regarding any kind of update.Several times I have called and each time it has been "we're still working on it give us a couple days and we will call you".I finally get a text that my car is ready for pickup on May 14,2024. I pick it up that same day and paid $2,448.86 ($1,000 in cash). The very next day I get in it, it's doing the same idling/jerking that I brought it in for. I called the shop on May 16th to let them know I am having the same issue. I was advised to bring it back. When I dropped the car off I spoke with the owner, Chip.He assured me that the techs would look at the car that same day and I will get a call in a few hrs.No surprise I never received a call.I called again May 23 and was told they are "running tests and are having difficulty finding the issue". I asked to speak to the tech that was working on my car and he was unavailable. I then asked for his name and they said they don't give out names. I finally pop up there on June 4 to speak with the owner who was not there. The tech tells me that they've had several ppl on the car and cannot figure out what is wrong. He was also rude. In conclusion, the owner is aware of my situation and is avoiding contact with me. I would like my car back and a full refund, as this has caused me a great fortune not having my car.$2,500 later, my car is not fixed. I am a student, I work, and have a child that needs transportation. This has been a very stressful experience with their lack of communication. Furthermore, they clearly are unable to do the job. It does not take 2 months and counting to fix a car.
