Hello my name is Michelle Cruz I'm writing you regarding of my bank account I recently went to Puerto Rico do to my father house being sold I was given a writing check which I deposited in to my account as soon I got back to USA my bank Key bank froze my account with out notice or giving me some money to survive they red flagged my account after the money was on the account and I have used on the ATM around 345 am by 5am my account was blocked and I had make transactions with the money but how ever I'm being under investigation of fraud I'm mentally disabled this caused me emotional abuse to the fact I'm not currently financially unstable.Review from James Z

Be very careful of this banks very shady business practices. When you make transfers between accounts, the funds will show as available, but if you transfer you still get hit with an overdraft fee. They say that’s due to the transaction cut off time being 7 PM local. If that’s the case, those funds shouldn’t be available for transfer. This shady business is causing undo fees to customers. They know about the issue but refuses to fix it.Review from Larry L

Key Bank allowed an unauthorized transaction of a large sum to go out of my account despite the fact that the transaction was reported as fraudulent and my accounts were suspended. The fraud and corporate investigation department appear to be dragging their feet as it has now been almost a month and the money is stilll not back in my account. I believe KeyBank failed to protect my accounts and my money and are now trying to avoid responsibility for its mistake. After being a customer for 16 years, both personally and professionally, I feel I deserve better treatment. This has interfered with my ability to do business and my personal finances.Review from liliana c

I tried opening an account in march 2023. I was told I would be notified of the outcome. Next thing I know, I received two letters back to back stating my account was on hold and that I would be reported to checksystems. Later that year after not being able to open an account with any other bank, I found out key bank reported fraud on my consumer report just because they had issues funding my new account. I was NEVER notified of these issues. I tried solving the problem with them and they are completely uncooperative. The people that work for this bank are incompetent.Review from Rebecca G

I didn't want anything coming out of my account because I don't get paid for a few days. I called them and they said to select No under over draft consent. They then gave me $80 in fees. I called and the guy said he understands but sometimes they let it come out as a courtesy for good customers. How is letting money come out after I was told it wouldn't and getting $80 in fees helping??Review from Moau V

I opened an account in 9/2023. it is now 5/2024. I have not received my $200 credit for opening the account. Called the 1800 in 1/2024 & they just keep transferring me to one Rep to another (took 2 hours). They told me the reason I didn't received the credit because I have 2 account w/them. I told them, "uh, I have never ever opened an account w/key. I just opened an account in 9/2023. Please tell me what the other account info is since I apparently have 2" I was put on hold while they research this. Why would you tell me that I have 2 account when you're not even sure? WTF? Finally, they told me I have to go back to the branch where I opened my account. Like, you put me on hold for 2 hours just to tell me that 'cause you don't know anything? I went to the branch the next day & talked to the branch manager. He looked over my info & told me, "Yes you are qualify for the credit. I'll send in a request for you to get your credit. It should take less than a week to receive the credit." NOTE this was in 1/2024. It is now the end of 5/2024 & I still haven't received the credit. I went to the branch the other day to do something. Since I was there, I figure I ask them about my promised credit. Luckily, the branch manager that I talked to last time is still working there. So, I decided to ask him about it. Once again, he pulled up my info & said, "yes you're qualify for the credit. I'll send in a request for you to get your credit. I'm not sure what happened to the first request" Why do you need to send in a request? are you not the manager? Honestly, this is the worst bank I have ever had to deal with. Customer service rep have no idea what they are talking about. Teller don't know what they are doing. Branch manager can't help w/crap. This is not the first and only issued I've had with them since opening the account. Thank god I did not closed my other bank account when I opened a Key account. Trust me, I will be "CLOSING" this Key Bank Account.Review from Kandace C

The WORST bank EVER! Was in the process transferring banks and they held transfers longer than normal. Almost cost me $2000!! Then while they had a hold on my funds, I occurred overdraft fees that they wouldn't waive. I'm so glad I found a bank that I don't need to deal with unlawful types of banks. Millions of dollars made off of their clients each year. It's sickening.Review from Wesley W

We have called the KeyBank Call Center just to get a one time code to activate our mobile banking app and they tell us that every number that we have connected to our accounts through our personal banker is not a existing number. Then my wife had to call them to get them to activate her ***** *** on her phone and wanted to send her a one time code, and again they said that my wife’s and my number does not exist their system. But every time we go in to the bank in person, our personal banker is able to get everything going for us, the one time code and activating her ***** ***. The bank does their job 100 times better and doesn’t jack us around and doesn’t lie to us. I keep saying and I will always feel like this and they need to just shut down the call center and just let the banks do their job that the call center is incapable of doing. They suck at their job, they very rude and very disrespectful when make a point across to them and they know your right. But they will say you’re wrong. Whatever happened to the Customer is always right.Review from Caryn C

Terrible bank. Wrote a check to myself from another account to cover my mortgage payment and wouldn’t release the funds from my check until the day after they canceled my mortgage payment. However, the entire week that they were holding onto my funds they were pushing me to make another account for overdraft protection with them. Terrible customer service as well
