On 6/22/2024 I went in for a fractured foot and the registration staff was extremely rude. They were laughing at my ID photo, I felt humiliated. I was not treated with respect and they were not professional. The security guard on duty also became involved, which was unnecessary, I was not a threat. I spoke with an advocate on 7/16/24 and while I was in the middle of speaking with him he hung up on me. No one should be treated this way.Review from Destinee B

I moved from Fl with OB Gyn paperwork saying I had a positive pap and need a hysterectomy. Gave it to my new UH ob gyn and it was promptly lost and the info never entered my chart. Since then its been six years of hearing theres no proof from two different drs, as if Im lying. Ive been told good luck with that from the first dr I had and now the second says my problem is from diabetes. I told her I dont have diabetes. Im hypoglycemic. Her response wellwhatever. And left the room. Told me to make yet another appt for a pap. They put me on a waiting list for August. Waiting list. Im so done with UH since they were bought up and put their Drs on productivity scales, care has become atrocious. People have to be dieing because of lack of care. So sad. Moving on to the ********* *******Review from Cindy B

UH Hospital is a maze of discombobulation. I receive a call telling me about a referral that needs to be scheduled. When I call, I’m told it is for a test that I actually had 2 months prior! In their system, however, it reports I canceled it! I’m repeatedly told I am not in their system - yet get inundated with texts and emails about the same thing over and over again, receiving 2-3 messages a day. After completing a visit, I get a message asking if I arrived yet!Review from William H

Website has inaccurate information for location of lab services in Willoughby. Website has link to make appointments which also does not work. Telephone number for lab took me through the usual maze of options to get to agent then disconnected. I am quite a distance away and weather conditions are not great so it is important to be able to ask a question and/or make an appointment before driving to pick up elderly father and take to lab. Also website has link to UH Mychart site and when we log in to dads account there is no way to schedule an appointment for lab services there either. Overall I am very disappointed in this hospital’s patient services and would NOT recommend. Unfortunately UH is the hospital dads cardiologist is associated with ??Review from Melody S

My 2 sisters and I were told on Thanksgiving Day, that our Dad was declining and his timeline of life is on a day by day basis. We traveled 11 hours to get to Cleveland and upon arriving, was told our Dad status was changed from a full code to a DNR. Our dad's medical team made that decision on their own. That's the 1st concern upon many. My 2 sisters and I arrived on Monday and our hotel stay was extended until Sunday. The entire staff are aware that we leave on Sunday. Its always been us 3 in the patient room, now on the 6th day, we are being told by a Nurse that they are enforcing their visitor policy and we all can't be in the room with our dad, yet as we are being told about this NOW enforced policy, other families have multiple children and 3 adults or more in atleast 2 patient rooms that we noticed. They told us that 1 of us had to wait in the waiting room and we can tag team each other in. A supervisor came into the waiting area and spoke publicly about our dad, expressing that they received a complaint that they are unable to care for our Dad properly due to his 3 daughters being in the room. The RN supervisor said wait an hour to return to the room because they wanted to hook him up to the dialysis machine and get him cleaned up. We walk down to the room in an hour only to be blindsided by the UH police department waiting to escort us and no dialysis machine hooked up to our Dad. This is unbelievable!! TODAY we had to unexpectedly tell our Dad goodbye within minutes. We are traumatized and can't believe our experience. We don't understand, why us? It's almost like we are being penalized for addressing our Dads DNR status and other shortcomings of UH Hospital. Are concerns and open communication not welcomed at this hospital?. Do we not have family rights? Are we expected to turn a blind eye to UH Hospitals shortcomings? We are not happy with this hospital and are praying that our Dad will receive the best care, in spite of our experiences.Review from Jessie T.

Once you get in to see the relevant medical person, they are great! The problem is the cheapskate mentality when it comes to scheduling. I just spent 20+ minutes trying to schedule an appointment and speak to a human. They should spend some of their millions in hiring people instead of relying on automation phone lines which cannot understand people. UH seems to think everyone is on the Internet and has access to computers. This is not necessarily true. Also, the much-vaunted MyCharts system does not populate stuff. Five days after my procedures, nothing is available. Efforts to get results in person were not successfulReview from Da R

Horrible customer service! I have been a UH patient for over 15 years. I have always referred people to my doctor. Lately, the uH group has no respect for patients time. I waited over an hour to be seen (my appointment was @9:15. Wasn’t seen because the receptionist “forgot “ to check me in. Once I said something after seeing multiple people go back, I was told I will have to wait until they can get me back. I wasn’t seen by the dr until 10:35. They were rude and very non chalant. I’m furious!Review from Sherry S

Dr. Horinger is an absolutely wonderful doctor. The staff at the front desk is unbelievably rude and disrespectful. These people couldn’t care less about you. I absolutely love my PCP but trying to wade through the red tape of dealing with this office staff is just overwhelming and has me looking for a new doctor. Frustrating.
