I hired this compony to make and instal a sign for my business. Suppose to instal the sign by end of December 2023 Howe er they did not install it until March of 2024. They failed to do the electrical installation for the sign. They charged me for electrical work but they failed to complete the electrical work. I had to hire my own electrician to complete the job. I have asked them for a refund for delivering the job three months late and for not doing the electrical work.

We appreciate your response. While we apologize for the delays that were experienced during the project, many of them were unforeseen. We worked diligently to expedite the project for you and did complete the installation. Regarding the electrical work, we want to reiterate that it is outside of our expertise in signage installation and was communicated to you throughout the project. A licensed electrician is required to complete the electrical portion.  Thank you for your understanding.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

The business failed to complete the project on time. They charged me for “site survey” at the beginning Then later stated that they did not know the project will need a raceway. I feel like this compony is a scam. They never completed the electrical work. I had to hire my own electrician. To this date the project is not completed.

      Regards,

We had assigned a work of changing of the signs at our ***** ******* *** *** ******* ******** ** at a cost of $47,649.21 as per estimate submitted by M/S Blink Signs. As per the estimate 6 signs from the building walls and 2 monument signs were to be removed and 3 new wall signs and 1 monument sign were to be installed, and wall paint after removal of old sign was to be made good as per existing building paint. M/S Blink signs removed the old signs and installed new signs, but the restoration of the paint work done by them is very shabby and scars and big impressions of earlier signs are clearly visible which have spoiled the elevational beauty of our hotel (Pictures of defective paint work is attached). We have requested Blink Signs time and again to make good the paint work, but they have failed to do so. We desperately contacted a painting contractor who has demanded $7,500.00 for making good the defects in paint work. We have repeatedly asked M/s Blink Signs to either make good the paint work or compensate us for defective work, so that we can get the defects removed. But they are not listening and are keeping silent. We request your good office to intervene, and get the justice done for us.

      Good afternoon,

I fully understand your frustration with this project, but please note that we had several communications via email explaining the outcome of the wall repair if we proceeded.  We continuously tried to have you hire a masonry or general contractor to ensure a good, clean outcome.

Please be advised that the cabinet signs were recessed into the wall, leaving empty space behind them for new channel letters to be installed without obstruction. We had advised you to have your general contractor remove the cabinets and add blocking to secure our signage. While you did have the cabinets removed, you declined to have blocking added or the wall repaired by a qualified contractor. Our installation team did add the blocking and attempted to repair the wall as best as they could, all at no additional cost to you.

It is important to note that wall repair is not typically within our trade or scope of work. We had communicated this to you multiple times and recommended hiring a masonry or general contractor for the job. Despite this, our team went above and beyond to attempt to address the issue while explaining that it will not turn out up to standard.

We understand your request for a discount, and while the additional work was covered by us, we did still provide a discount by waiving the permitting acquisition fees associated with your project. However, it remains our belief that a masonry or general contractor should have been consulted for the wall repair from the outset. Thank you for your understanding.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ******** and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

We totally disagree with the response from Blink signs, they have altogether reversed the truth, and have distorted the facts. It is not correct that the Blink Signs ever advised us to get removed the signs by our general contractors, a view on the pg. # 3,12,13,14,15,16 of the attached project design dated 03/17/2023 provided by the Blink Signs clearly shows that they had to remove the old signs from locations #1 to 9 and had to reinstall new signs at location # 1 to 4. One sign on the ground and 3 signs on the building, at 3 locations on the building they had to only remove the old signs and they didn’t do that even timely, and our painter waited endlessly for removal of these signed (explained in forgoing paras). Unfortunately, the defects in the paintwork are mainly in these locations which have been left bare and not covered by new signs.
It is also not correct  on their part to say  on their part that “It is important to note that the wall repair is not typically within our trade or scope of work” A look on pg.#7 of the design will reveal that “Condition Overview” is part of the design, it clearly has a mention “ Wall conditions( note the condition of the each wall with signage applied), sign access, wall color and other comments”. They were fully involved and aware about repair work since very beginning, *** **** vide his email dt 06/23/2023 (attached) confirmed the paint color as per survey conducted by them and sent us the samples for faux brick panels for the monument sign.
However, the repair work done by them was bad and we pointed out vide our email dt 09/06/2023 and *** **** vide his email dt 09/07/2023 replied that he has forwarded our concern to his supervisor and will see what he can do. Subsequent emails from *** dt 09/07/2023 with assurance to match the paint, which never happened. It appears that they didn’t get the paint work done from qualified painters and got it done from the sign installers having no knowledge about paint work, which resulted in bad work, and now they are trying to run away from their responsibility.
They took $47,649.21. 100% payment in advance on dt 03/21/2023 and had assured to complete the work quickly right from inspection to approval from the city and installation, but they stretched the project and installed the signs in September 2023. We paid interest on this money, which they used.
It is to mention that besides giving the sign installation work, we had also given a contract for painting the entire hotel inside and outside to ****** A Cedillo, who started interior painting on 03/26/2023 (see the attached WhatsApp text from ******), so that he could finish the exterior paint after installation of the signs. ****** completed inside painting in April 2023, but we had withheld outside painting which we wanted to do after the Signs installation, as Blink Signs after taking the advance didn’t bother with our work and after lengthy pushing up. They vide their email dt 05/22/2023 (attached), assured us to complete the work on 08/04/2023. ****** was pursuing the completion of his contract, so we asked him to resume the work in the month of Aug 2023. So, ****** through his text dt 08/01/2023 (copy attached) again enquire from us, if signs have been removed, but Blink Signs had not started any work till then and had informed us to remove the signs on 08/14/2023.  They again extended their date to complete the work by 08/18/2023 instead of 08/04/2023 (email attached). But again, they failed to reach the deadline, and ****** had no more patience, and we were also tired of calling again & again to *** **** and requesting ****** to wait for some time, although we were not under obligation to stop our exterior paint work as repair of any damage to paint while removing /installing was the responsibility of the Blink Signs. Even if their fabrication was delayed, they could have removed those signs which were not to be put back. They even failed to remove those signs and the main problem of the defective paint is at the locations where signs have not been put back. It is strange that they are shamelessly blaming us for their total failure. Finally, *** **** had assured us that they will take care of the repair of paint work and asked us to allow ****** to do his work. ****** resumed his work and completed it on 08/20/2023{may see the text message from ******(attached). But Blink Signs was delaying the work and we had told *** about our concern and finally they installed the signs on 09/06/2023. They used our money for six months without doing any work. This dispute could have been averted had Blink sign did not delay their work of removal of the signs which were not to be put back, and repair needed for the paint work would have been attended by ****** routinely. It could be seen that Blink Signs have presented a wrong picture and they are responsible for executing bad work and backing out from rectification of the defects. They should either rectify the defects or compensate us, so that we can get rectify the defects. All evidence couldn't be added due limitations of BBB, but all of them are the emails from Blink.

We were asked a few questions from ****** ****** corporate and provided them with the following information and screenshots.  In regards to the blocking for the new channel letters, the hotel owner did not want to spend the additional money to hire an experienced contractor as it wasn't in their budget.  There were several phone conversations and emails explaining that this not in our wheel house and they would need to hire it out.  We also paid our installer an additional $4,000.00 for the blocking and repaint work which we did not charge the client, on top of the $1800.00 discount provided on permits.

We apologize for the back and forth on this project, but also wasnted to reiterate that the additional work fell well outside our scope of work as it was discussed and agreed upon through our contracts.  In good faith we did take losses on this project to do what we would to make it right by the client.

      Better Business Bureau:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ******** and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, it is to mention that they have woven a web of untruth and lying that we didn't want to hire an experienced contractor as it was not in our budget. We have already provided the proof that our professional painter waited for their removal of the old signs which they failed to remove and extended their date endlessly. They have already accepted their fault by saying" WE APOLOGIZE FOR THE BACK AND FORTH ON THIS PROJECT" So it could be seen that they are solely responsible for bad work and didn't timely remove the old signs and delayed the work as per their whims. We have already submitted the proof of the conversation of our professional painter and emails from Blink setting the target dates and not achieving them. They are shamelessly running away from their responsibility of executing a good work. I have already provided enough proof showing the inordinate delay caused by Blink Signs and  and wait done by our building painter to paint the building after removal of the old signs, but they didn't remove them and didn't do good quality paint as assured by them.

We request BBB to help us in getting rectify the defective work done by Blink signs.

      Thanking you

On June 2, 2023, our company *** ***********, received a quotation from Blink Signs for Qty. 2 new signs to be installed on our roof. On June 8, 2023 we paid Blink Signs $350.00 so they could do a site survey to make sure they could install the quoted signs, to which they replied -"Yes". On June 20th we received a final quotation from Blink Signs in the amount of $21,248.00 and we sent a formal PO to them on the same day. On June 28th, EMI sent a down payment to Blink Signs in the amount of $11,744.24. On August 8, 2023 Blink Signs provided a timeline with an installation date for the signs to be installed on 9/28/23. That never happened. An installation date was finally set up for 11/28/23. We paid the final balance due that day as well in the amount of $11,044.24. The installation never took place because they said they didn't have the right equipment, even though we paid $350 up from for a site survey for installation. It is now 12/14/23, and we still do not have an installation date. All we want is this job completed as per Blink Signs quote, as soon as possible.

Blink Signs successfully completed the installation on January 4th and 5th, 2024. However, there were some issues with communication regarding the final payment. As per our company policy, we require the final payment prior to scheduling the installation.During the course of the installation, we encountered unforeseen barriers that necessitated a reevaluation of the equipment needed. These barriers were not accounted for in the initial site survey. We apologize for any inconvenience caused by this.We have been made aware of some concerns on January 9th, 2024, and we assure you that these issues will be addressed no later than the week of January 22nd, 2024.In order to ensure proper illumination, we need to install photocells on the signage. Additionally, there are a few spots that require touch paint, which has already been ordered and will be delivered in the next few days.Lastly, we have identified an outage, most likely caused by a faulty power supply, which needs to be addressed. We appreciate your patience and understanding as we work to resolve these issues promptly. If you have any further questions or concerns, please feel free to contact us.

Blink Signs- I signed a contract with the company in March of 2022 for the job of installing external signage. I paid 40% of the retainer in May- explicitly discussing my need to have the signs installed in September. I paid 60% of the retainer in August. Between August and January 27- the signs have not been installed. I have been dealing with Austin- who passed me on to the lead ******* and his manager ********. I have been provided multiple dates for completion which have come and gone- such as this Wednesday / Thursday installation, to which, came and went with out communication as to why. The company has been negligent and has failed to follow through. We are now well over 4 months late on delivering my exterior signage. Please help.

We do sincerely apologize for the delays that you experienced in this project as this is definitely not a good representation of our business.  We did have some staffing movements in late summer that did lead to your project being transferred.  When finally transferred to *******, we noticed that your manufacturing was not moving as quickly as we had liked and decided to go with another one of our manufacturing partners.  Originally our rescheduled ship date for the signage was in early October, but then they were hit by a hurricane.  They had already started on the project and had your material in hand so moving to another manufacturer would have caused longer delays due to your signage being custom.  What we did not foresee was that the delays from the hurricane, their personnel, shop reconstruction...etc., would take another two months.  We have since installed the signage and then found a scratch on one of the panels.  We have rushed to manufacture the panel and it will be installed this week.  In an effort to make this right by you, we have also decided to void your final invoice.  We know this doesn't make things right, but hope that our response to your complaint is sufficient as our number one goal is to provide client satisfaction.
