RECEIVED VIA EMAIL BY BBB STAFF MEMBER:
Dear ** *******
In Response to *** ***** damage complaint of the **** ********* *******
This vehicle was towed by CPD during a snowstorm on or about 1/19/2022. The vehicle appeared to be stuck and facing the wrong way on the city street. The car was pulled from the rear out of the snow and then hooked from the font and towed to ********* **** ******** We received an email on 2/27/2022 from some one associated with *** ***** of the vehicle at the repair facility and a video of the oil leak from the oil pan. There are problems with the style of puncture on the oil pan as nothing protrudes in a vertical fashion from the wheel lift from the tow truck that would stick up in a pin point area. All bolts that hold pins in are recessed into the metal parts creating a smooth surface. And the location of the puncture is not anywhere near where one of the recessed bolt would be. With the jaws closed around the tires they would be supporting the vehicle in a fashion that leaves the oil pan free and clear. Furthermore upon pick up of the vehicle the oil would be all over the ground under the vehicle as the vehicle does not need to be running to leak oil from an oil pan. Most Chevrolet cars hold 5 quarts of oil or more. And as evidenced by the video of the oil leaking it would not take more than a couple hours for all the oil to leak out. 5 quarts or 1.25 gallons of oil on the ground would be very noticeable upon vehicle retrieval. In that case should have prompted a call before the vehicle was ever moved.
I will follow up with photos of the truck in question along with A 2014 or newer ********* ****** (up to at least 2019 is exact body style) on the wheel lift of the truck to prove clearances and where obstructions at least from that model tow truck cannot cause that kind of puncture. Should not be long as that is a pretty common vehicle.

Better Business Bureau:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.
[To assist us in bringing this matter to a close, we would like to know your view on the matter.]Eckes Towing had the responsibility of towing my vehicle. My car was in perfect condition as my Vavoline receipt supports just days prior to this tow. i don’t doubt their equipment hookup works exactly how **** says it does but they parked my vehicle in the impound parking lot and it was never moved again until i drove it away and almost immediately the lights turned on my destination was no more than 15-20 miles from the impound place where the car never moved again except by tow to the ***** ***********
Regards,
********* *****
