I took my car to ****'s Body Shop on September 26th, 2022 for an estimate to paint the front left bumper and cover some rust on the XXXXX left quarter panel where I had been hit.

Mr. **** and I agreed that he would paint the entire car excluding the roof. He painted my car the wrong color and did not paint what we agreed on.

When I went to pick the car up he told me, "It would not have been worth it to paint it."

But we had agreed upon previously.

He was given the 2010 color of my car which is Inferno Red, this is listed on the Chrysler website for the 2010 PT CRUISER, but the color he used was labeled CRK, this paint left my car with an orange tint. Mr. **** never bothered to check the information sticker in the car for the correct color. When this was brought to his attention, he said he would not correct it. See Attachments

Business has sent the invoice from the work.  Business states that customer requested to have the whole car painted and couldn't afford it.  The decision was to paint what needed to be done for $1000, just as the invoice states.  Listed on the invoice is what was done.  The business states the customer was informed on the possibility of the paint not matching because of the condition of the car, but still moved forward with the job.  As well, this was completed almost a year ago.  When the customer picked up the vehicle, customer was happy with the work.

In response to the wrong paint being used:

the door stickers on cars with the production dates has the paint code on that sticker so you type that code into a pint mixing system and it tells you the color and the hardner reducer etc all u need to paint the car  or whats damaged ,and as i explained to you yesterday when we talked   when a customer does not take care of there car waxing it keeping the refinish up or shinny like it should ,no shop can match faded paint  your putting new paint on pnls next to old paint on pnls , if her refinish on her car would have been kept up it would match perfectly , i explained this to her before we started when she picked it up she liked it never said a word on how  it looked a year later its a problem ??  so the color is the correct color the rest of the car that was not painted or fixed if the paint hadnt died down and it had clear coat on top of it like it should there would be no issue, so hope this helps please let me know if you have any other questions thanks have a great day !

BBB transcribed from handwritten letter received via US Mail:

      I **** ******** reject business response ID # 20542235.

When I took my car to ****’s Body Shop to be painted, I asked **** to paint the entire car excluding the roof, he agreed and gave me a quote of $1,000.00. On top of what the insurance was paying for repairing the rear fender. When I went to pick up my car I noticed the entire car had not been painted per our agreement. **** told me that it would not be worth it to paint the entire car because of all the work it would entail to do it, the cost would be $10,000.00

Why didn’t he call me before doing anything and explain this new development. He listed the car was in good condition during the estimate and now that he has been called out on the color not matching my car is not in good condition.

I called on many occasions to meet with **** so that he could see that my car was orange and not red but he was never available.

When I was finally able to meet with **** so that he could see that my car was orange and not red he told me he wasn’t going to change it because it was not worth it.
