I visited Linworth Family Dental & Dr. ************ on Monday, February 5th at 11:50 am based on the need to have a crown on my upper right side re-affixed temporarily and seek a recommendation about replacement/repair.
While in the dental chair, the office insisted upon taking an x-ray though I was adamant that this was not necessary simply for re-affixing of the crown on a temporary basis. The dental tech informed me that I had to get an x-ray or they would not replace the crown (temporarily). I told them to please review my insurance benefits to confirm what my out of pocket would be as I could then decide.
They looked up my benefits (I have private insurance via ******* ******) after I offered my policy information. The office informed me there would be no charge based on my benefits for the 'required' xray. The dentist proceeded to replace the crown that had fallen out with temporary 'cement'.
I paid via my debit card an approximate fee of $30.00 for my out of pocket on the xray and advised their office I would reschedule to seek affixation of the new crown at a later date.
On Thursday, February 22nd, I received a text message from Linworth Family Dentistry and their office manager ******* that I had a balance due of $75.00 from my previous visit. I called to dispute this with her. ******* would not let me speak and then proceeded to hang up on me.
I dispute the charge(s) based on my private insurance and the fact that I told them I did not want the x-ray if there was to be out of pocket expense. They assured me my benefits covered it but then proceeded to bill me weeks later.
