I called this office ahead to make sure that the office was in-network with my dental insurance to which the office manager ****** stated with a laugh, "We accept all insurance Mr.******" I took this response as affirmation that the office was indeed, in-network.
I went to the appointment in which the clerk told me I owed nothing for the appointment. They also wanted me to get a filling for $400, after insurance. I thought this was wrong and the office workers, "had no idea" why the cost was so high.
I called my insurance company and they informed me the reason the bill was so high is because the office is out of network. I called the office back and they were very rude instructing me that it is a the patients responsibility to make sure their office is in network and they are not responsible for anything. ****** also denied that she said anything out their office being in or out of network.
I had them cancel all appointments. A few weeks later I get a bill in the mail showing that the insurance paid them $254 and they wanted to me pay a remaining balance of $235. I called their office and they instructed me I owed that amount, even though they never disclosed that the appointment was going to cost me anything out of pocket, that any of the services they were doing are considered "not standard", they never disclosed that they were out of network, and the day of the appointment they said I didn't owe anything.
Upon calling the office ****** told me that I am responsible for any charges and that they are not liable for anything that was said or not said since this is my sole responsibility, even though they didn't disclose anything. They told me they are going to submit this to collections, which is absurd.
This company has deceptive billing practices that seems like they want to rope people in and bill them for it later. I would like them to write off this expense as the insurance already paid them several hundred dollars, and due to their deceptive practices.
