Hello,We decided to try a small local business by the name of Shamrock Appliance Repair for our refrigerator that was making a very loud noise. The owner ****** came out on 10/11/2024 and replaced the temperature control sensor and advised he was 99% positive that was the issue, so we the paid $241.87.A few days later we noticed the noise coming back, so we reached back out to ****** and he said the control board needed to be replaced for another $280 plus tax. We asked ****** why is he trying to charge us another $300 for another part when he said the temperature control sensor he replaced was 99% the issue..****** then said he thought he knew what the issue was the first time. We told him we are not paying an additional $300 for him to come back out and replace what he thinks is the only other ********* our refrigerator is back making the same loud noise that it was before and we had to buy a new refrigerator that cost us a lot of money. We feel based on ****** advising us as the expert in his field and that he was 99% certain the temperature control sensor was the issue, we should be refunded our money back. Not only did ****** not fix the issue, he then wanted another $300 to replace another part that he was certain was the issue like he stated to us the first time.

****** is not the owner he is a technician. When ****** went out the first time he found that the only issue with the fridge was the temperature sensor. He replaced that part. It fixed the issue for a couple weeks. ****** I believe is the husband called and said the fridge is making a noise again not as loud but making the same noise.  I sent ****** back out again. ****** discovered there is a new issue. This is a machine and parts go bad at different unforeseen times.  ****** offered to replace the control board for the cost of the part only ****** would not charge any labor. ****** wanted to talk with his wife before he decided what he wanted to do. Shamrock does not replace parts on appliances that are not showing bad at time of service, we go through the appliance as thoroughly as we can only fix and replace what is agreed upon by the technician and the customer.

The office did not receive any further calls or complaints from ****** or his wife about their fridge, We did not even have a chance to talk to them or try and come to a resolution. Or contract is signed by the technician and customer and they agree on all labor and parts they also agree to a 30 day labor warranty and a 90 manufacture warranty on parts that were replaced.

I am rejecting this response because: ****** came out the same day when we complained there was water left on the floor and stated the water was from him having to use his hair dryer to defrost the ice build up and then left. My husband texted ********* at ************** Sunday at 12:54PM per the saved text thread and stated that the same noise is back and that was 9 days after the initial repair was done on 10/11/2024, not two weeks.

My husband stated when ****** was out to our home on 10/11/2024 that he advised he was the owner and ********* was his wife of Shamrock Appliance Repair during that conversation and would not lie about what was said to him.

On 10/21/2024, ****** texted my husband and advised that another part would be needed for an additional $280 plus tax, ****** never came back out to our house to listen or observe the noise and was only back out to our home on 10/11/2024 to address the water coming from the refrigerator and on our floor.

On October 22 my husband texted ****** and asked for the part number, so we could look up the part number and see the price.  We wanted to make sure we weren't charged labor.  ****** never provided that for us.

At this point we don't want him to come back out and fix anything, since we ended up buying a new fridge.  We would like our money back that we spend fixing the problem since the problem wasn't fixed.

    Regards,

    **** *****

This is a family business. ****** is not the owner. **** is the owner, ****** is the brother in law. ****** would not claim to be the owner. That needs to be clear.

****** is only a technician, who is employed by Shamrock appliance repair. ****** is in the field and does not text or answer calls most of the time since he is doing repairs and driving. That is why I run the office I handle all scheduling and customers if they have questions or concerns for all the technicians employed by shamrock appliance repair. ****** also does not have authority to give refunds or make decisions based off of customer complaints. That again is left up to the office and the owner who is ****. If you were to reach out to the office I would have been able to resolve all issues and or concerns. ****** signed and agreed to labor and parts. The thermistor and bimetal  were bad causing your fridge to collect ice making that loud noise you were hearing. After 9 days almost 2 weeks it started doing this again. After speaking to the owner (****) they both agreed the only thing that could be causing the problem to continuously come back would be the control board. There is no way to test a control board. We are not going to sell you parts you don't need. Machines have many parts, we go through the machine as best as we possible can, and fix what needs to be fixed.

Yes, After the original repair ***** called the office and said water is leaking from the fridge. I explained it could be residual water from having to defrost everything. ****** came back out immediately to address the issue and it was residual water from defrosting everything. That problem was addressed and taken care of immediately.

I am confused on why I was not contacted by ****** or yourself when you had any concerns or needed a part number I always answered my phone and responded to text almost immediately after receiving them and when there were any issues I was contacted and I addressed any concerns immediately. So I am unclear on why you decided not to reach out to me this time.

You did not want to call the office to resolve this and you don't want Shamrock to come back out and you got rid of your fridge which ****** agreed to have repaired. How can Shamrock uphold our warranty when you got rid of the fridge? How can Shamrock resolve any issue when you never contacted the company?

I wish you would have reached out to the office so I could have resolved what was going on and hopefully could have prevented you from buying a new fridge.

I;m am confused the customer never contacted the office then they got rid of the fridge without contacting the office. After the technician let them know since this problem re-occurred to fast the control board needed to be replaced. This is a machine that was not designed by our company and has many moving parts. We were not charging another service fee or labor just the part. The customer choose not to reach out to the company only a technician who cannot give refunds or handle customer complaints. They did not want to invest anymore money into there machine now they are falsely accusing Shamrock of not honoring our work.

He had agreed to come out fix the repair and came out about 4 times but has failed to successfully fully repair the fridge.. I have kids that depend on a meal everyday and not having an essential appliance which is a working cooling fridge has mad either challenging for me to do so.... I will like a refund at this point to buy a new one as we are in desperate need or a working cooling fridge.

Per conversation with ****, the original call was in spring of 2022. At that time, it was discovered that a compressor bearing no serial number was installed by someone that was not a professional as evidenced by the soldering that is not supposed to be used in the install.  This was communicated to the owner, along with the need to request a new compressor to help.  The issues that transpired from this day forward are due to the incorrect installation of the "used" compressor.  Business states that they were trying to help consumer, communicated this to her, and during the exchanges, the business was asked to discount or remove many of the "nonnegotiable" charges.  **** stated he took of any charges he was able to, but after the last visit and a flush to the system was needed because of the original work performed prior to his involvement, consumer stated she did not want the flush done and wanted her money back, citing that **** was unknowledgeable about the work.  **** suggested that the consumer use other appliance repair because of this and the request for refund.  Pictures will be furnished to support initial findings.

We discussed completing a compressor repair to my LG fridge. I contacted LG on behalf of ****** to give company information and address, for approval of compressor part. Part was sent and received by company last Thursday. I attempted to contact company by phone and text when product was received, no response. I again contacted company Monday morning leaving a voicemail and text to ask if services were still going to be provided. ****** was concerned about my tone (never cursed, threatened or raised my voice) stating that he was extremely busy and had no understanding for a lack of patience. I sent a response asking if and when services would still be completed. No response. I asked for equipment to be returned, no response. It is clear that he will not be completing business as previously stated so it is only fair that my equipment be returned to me or LG.

Consumer left a voice mail message at BBB stating that the business responded to her and returned her equipment. She said she considers the matter closed on her end.
