My family and I have bought 4 cars from this dealership in the past but I am done buying cars from them. The experience I had with the last car I bought from them is terrible. The sales guy who assisted us is nice but everyone else especially the finance director don’t care about their customers. Went there twice but was unable to speak with him and surprisingly no other person in that building could help us resolve an issue we had with our financing. After multiple calls and text messages from the sales guy who kept telling me the finance director will call me to no avail, I decided to let the sales guy know via a text message how disappointed I am and that I will be submitting a complaint to the BBB, it was only after this that I got a call from the finance director. At this point I am not only disappointed in them but I really don’t trust them as well. Please be very careful when buying a car from them, make sure you take your time to review the contract before signing because they tag on things to increase the total cost of the car without telling you especially if the financing is through them. Their sales practices are deceptive and terrible customer service as a whole.Germain Toyota of Columbus Response

I bought a car from them two months ago, and the engine has already failed. I had it towed to Germain Toyota, and it has been sitting there untouched for three weeks. They said they can't do the service but they still have my car. I have been calling and emailing for the three weeks and gotten through to no one. Communication has been terrible. On the few occasions I talk to a person, they redirect me to someone else who then never answers me. Voicemails go unanswered and this all seems very unprofessional. I asked for Germain to handle the tow to the dealership that can do the service, since they said they can't do it themselves and have held my car for this long, but that has been ignored. When buying the car, everyone seemed so caring and helpful. Now that I am experiencing issues, no one is around to help me. I am left with no car and can't even drive to the dealership to speak to anyone in person. I am extremely disheartened. As a college student making payments on a car, I expect to be able to drive what I pay for. I feel like I've been robbed.Review from Justin D

Germain sold a new car to my mom at new car sticker pricing in 2009 without disclosing the vehicle had extensive repairs made. When the repairs had failed we took the vehicle back to the dealer and their body shop said the repairs that were made were substandard work and any work done at a dealer shop carries a lifetime warranty. The correspondence has been going on for months and we have to chase them down to get any info. Now the dealer refuses to make the repairs and states only white cars carry a warranty and cannot honor a warranty because our car is grey.Germain Toyota of Columbus Response

We went to buy a new car and were told they charge over msrp. Lied to us on the reason why. This dealership is very shady and price gouging their customers. Avoid at all cost. I called other dealers and we were offered msrp price. Reporting this to Toyota usa. I recommend anyone who gets told this do the same.Review from Diane J

In my opinion, Germain Toyota ************ has the worst collision repair shop in ************. They did collision repair on my car that took 10 weeks then, even though the insurance adjuster had no picture, my car came back with a cracked windshield that keeps getting worse. I've been leaving messages and voice mail for weeks and nobody will contact me, though it is obvious ************************* broke the windshield.Germain Toyota of Columbus Response

I can my car sent there for repairs on just the front bumper. I gave it to them and my car sat there no work done on it because they never order the bumper. So I took my car out and waited for them to call me back and they never called me back. I had to call them to check to see if the part was there and when it was. I took my car and and it took them 3 weeks to fix the bumper. I will never again take my car there to get it fix until they get better people there.Germain Toyota of Columbus Response

I traded in my FJ Cruiser which I owned, handed them the title for a used 2015 Toyota Camry Hybrid on March 11, 2021. I have been given the run around for the past 6 months and still dont have the title for the vehicle. The car I bought was listed for $15,900 and I paid an additional $1,800 on top of my trade in, now they are telling me they will trade it for something comparable but because the cost of used vehicles has risen with the microchip shortage they are telling me I need to pay the difference. This isnt acceptable- I either want the title or I want my trade in and cash back.Germain Toyota of Columbus Response

You purchased a used Camry from our dealership in March of 2021. Upon receiving the title from the lien holder our dealership realized that the title was for a different VIN. Upon investigation, we found that the original seller of the Camry you purchased had sold two different Camrys six years ago and at that time mixed up the paperwork. We have worked with the Ohio ***, the original seller trying, and our customer that traded the Camry to us to correct this matter. Now the *** is requesting that the second Camry that was owned by a customer in Indiana also provide documentation of this error. The original seller will not provide us information on who this customer is (they are not a ******************** customer). Upon a VIN research, we found that the customer in Indiana no longer owns the vehicle and somehow sold it at auction. Upon these findings, we offered to find you another vehicle trading you out at what you paid for the Camry plus your down payment or refund you all monies you paid toward this vehicle including your trade, down payment, taxes etc to make you whole from this transaction. There was no way for our company to foresee this error that was made six years ago and was not an error made by our dealership, however, we have worked tirelessly trying to correct it. We feel the right thing to do is the make you whole by refunding the monies or finding another vehicle where you don't lose any money towards the trade, and we take the Camry back and deal with this issue of the crossed VINs.Review from Andy R

nitially had a great experienceTanesha was great to work with, and the buying process was smooth.Unfortunately, almost immediately ran into engine issues with the vehicle we bought (paid $15k, so had a reasonable expectation of qualify at that price). We reached back out to Germain to just talk about the issuecalled four different people, left messages, and havent heard anything four days later. It actually got to the point where the number I was given for one of the managers, *****, sent my calls to voicemail after a few rings. I didnt have high expectations, but to not even get a call back or take my calls is well below the standard of professionalism I expected from Germain. Since buying the vehicle and running into issues, I literally havent been able to get a hold of anyone. Starting to suspect Germain knew about the problembroken exhaust manifold bolts can easily be hidden from the buyer if the vehicle is warmed up before they arrive, for example. Beyond disappointed at this point, especially at the price we paid. My experience may be an isolated one, but please be careful if buying from here, as I dont feel my wife and I were treated professionally or honestly.Germain Toyota of Columbus Response
