During a visit with Orthopedic One, I was given a wrist brace with the assurance from the medical staff that my insurance would cover the cost.

Regrettably, months later, I received an unexpected bill from Orthopedic One, amounting to $136 for the brace. This discrepancy between the information provided during the appointment and the actual charges has caused significant frustration and financial strain.

When I contacted the company regarding the issue, they could not provide a resolution, but merely stated the staff should stop telling people that.

I am concerned that multiple people are getting excessive bills for items that could be purchased elsewhere, if the person was informed up front of the cost.

I have spoken to ****** from Orthopedic One recently and she was rude and completely dismissed my concerns. When I explained to ****** that I would be contacting the Better Business Bureau, she told me her decision remains the same and there is nothing that the Better Business Bureau can do for me.

      Regards,

      ****** ******

After a couple of appointments with Orthopedic One, the doctor referred me to get an MRI. When I went to check out, the receptionist asked me if I wanted her to schedule the MRI. I let her know that I preferred checking prices first because there is a lot of fluctuation in the market. She offered to get me a price from their MRI office and made a call with me waiting. The lady that she called stated that the MRI would be 250-300 and an additional office visit fee. Since that price was reasonable to me, I stated that I would book the appointment. After the MRI, I received a bill for $600 plus the office visit. I went ahead and paid the office visit but called the office to let them know that the price for the MRI was more than double what they quoted. I called to the office twice and on both occasions the billing specialist told me that they don't give verbal quotes although their receptionist in fact gave me a quote in person. I asked during each of the two calls to speak with a supervisor and was told that a supervisor would call me back which never happened. I am in agreement that I am responsible for $300 but not the $600 that was billed. On Nov 1, Orthopedic One turned over the bill to the collection agency and I paid the full $600 just to remove the collection from my credit report. I am asking that Orthopedic one refund me $300 as well as informing their patients of their price quoting policy in addition to doing price quoting training with their associates. Please reach out to me with any questions. For patient identification purposes, my name is **** ***** and date of birth is ********.

      Hello,

As a follow up, Orthopedic One just called me and we were able to arrange a resolution where they would be issuing me a partial agreed upon refund of $176.00. At this point as long as the refund is issued timely, I am considering the dispute resolved. Thanks,

Orthopedic one sent a bill of mine to collections without ever sending me an invoice first. A few months ago, while I was in the process of trying to figure out why the bill was sent to collections, it hit my credit report and dropped my score approx. 30 points. I have called Orthopedic one and I was told they sent me 3 bills prior to sending it to collections.. the date of service was almost 4 years ago and they are saying they only send me 3 attempts to collect. I never received any of these said bills.

the business has not contacted me. I also received a notification from Credit Karma on 10/6/21 stating that "****** ********", the collections agency Orthopedic One goes through, removed an account then added another account to my credit. I am extremely frustrated because I am also dealing with my car that is a lemon, therefore have to buy another car in a month. This Orthopedic One ordeal has significantly affected my credit score and now is going to significantly impact my auto loan. I would like to know how I am going to be reimbursed for the increased interest rate on my auto loan, due to my decreased credit score caused by this incorrect credit report.
