My husband went to a concert in ********, **** on 5-17-24. He ****ed in Lot 54, the concert was at the venue, ***** ****! (Next to ********** ****). There was an attendant at this lot that told him to **** anywhere in the lot and collected $7 cash from my husband. Today, 7-9-24, I received this notice from **** Place that states I owe $75 within 10 days and that my car will be subject to immediate towing and impound if ****ed on any facility operated by **** Place LLC. I do not know who owns the multiple ****ing lots in this country and furthermore, they had an designated attendant collecting money on the date my husband ****ed in the lot. I feel I don’t owe any more money and this is a scam trying to get more money from me. I hope you can help me with this matter. Attached is a copy of the letter I received today.

On 04/30/2024 at approximately 6PM, I attempted to pay the attendant for parking and he waved me on to continue to park rather than take the money I was trying to give him. Roughly 30mins after parking and walking away from the lot, I received a text about a parking violation and fee of $30+$4 service fee for "failure to pay". I disputed the ticket providing the same information above and received this response: "You are aware that you pay for parking. We will reduce to the event rate this time. Be sure to pay the attendant and get the receipt in future. This reduction will be valid through 05/07/2024 at which time it will revert to the original rate." So I paid the new fee with the intention of disputing the charge. I attempted to pay for this parking, the attendant would not accept my money, and then 30mins after I leave I get a ticket for 3-4x of the amount I tried to pay for parking? Seems like the attendant waved me on to park with the intention of ticketing me. Why else would he not accept my money for parking, then almost immediately ticket for "failure to pay"?

My 2021 Toyota Tacoma was broken into on April 1, 2024 at 7:30pm during a Blue Jackets game. 2 side windows payed open and smashed, causing a ***** auto insurance estimate of $9600 + approx $6000 worth of item stolen from inside the locked truck (3 laptops etc). This facility is NOT SECURE, especially during major events at the nearby hockey arena. NO cameras, NO security guard, NO accountability for issues on this lot. It is ripe for criminal element and the facility does nothing about it. THIS IS NOT A SAFE PLACE TO PARK YOUR CAR!!! Police report attached.

On 9/8/23 at approximately 7pm I paid $7 cash to park in the lot near *** * ********** ***** The attendant told me to “park anywhere” in the lot. When I returned to my car a couple hours later, I found a parking ticket for $30 listing “failure to pay.” This is a total scam. How did I get in the lot if I didn’t pay? I want the ticket dropped.

      Complaint: 20578555

I am rejecting this response because:

The business admitted that sometimes the parking attendants don't give receipts to the customers (and then subsequently ticket the cars who they accepted payment from)!  This is a total scam.  It requires that the customer go through a lengthly back-and-forth process with the company to get reimbursed.

This BBB complaint needs to be in the record so that other consumers 1) know what this company is doing and 2) know to demand a receipt from the parking attendant.  Even then, the company might still ticket their customers because they know that they'll profit because some fraction will too busy to go through the reimbursement process.

I purchased parking at 97 Spruce Street in Columbus, Ohio for 6/17-19 through the Spot Hero website. The site described the location as "Enter this location at 97 Spruce St, Columbus, OH 43215. This is the Parking Lot 35D, operated by Park Place. It is located on the southeast side of Spruce St. between Armstrong St. and School St. The entrance is next to the Arena Wine and Spirit." The site said the parking for the weekend would be $16.75, which I paid. On 6/17, i parked my car at 97 Spruce Street and left it there. On 6/19, I returned to have 3 parking violation tickets on my car, one for each day. When I got home and was able to investigate, Parking Place, the company that owned the lot, said I had parked in the wrong lot. I had paid for 35D but parked in 22. As u can see in the attached pictures between the sites, the description of 97 spruce street is the exact between the 2 sites, but lot number is different. When i contacted Parking Place, they said that they would drop the fees to $20 for the variance between what I paid and what it should have been through them. I contacted Spot Hero and they said there was nothing they could do since the "ticket is valid". I am very confused as to why I am having to pay anything more since I parked where Spot Hero, whom i bought the parking from, told me to park and it was not correct according to Park Place, which is charging me more.

This citation has already been resolved. We waived the citation. We don't know why the complaint was made when we already helped this customer. SpotHero is the party that had the erroneous information on the website- a small detail which has been acknowledged and is being addressed. Park Place prides itself on it's customer service- we strive to provide the best possible customer experience. We hope to prove ourselves to this individual in the future.

I am rejecting this response because: i agree that the spot hero website was the one with the incorrect information, however to simple reduce my fines to $20 when there was no way for me to have known the information was wrong and then SEND ME A LETTER saying my car will be impounded if the $20 is not paid is absolutely ridiculous.   I would also hope you would recognize that the rest of the citation was not waived until AFTER i placed the complaint with the BBB and that spot hero, within 24 hours of the complaint, was messaging me and offer to pay the $20 because they felt terrible about the whole situation that was caused by your business and the horrible customer service that i have received.   I have added the emails from Ms ****** where you can see she was not “Park Place prides itself on it's customer service- we strive to provide the best possible customer experience. We hope to prove ourselves to this individual in the future.”
