On June 20, 2024, a consent judgment was filed in Franklin County Common Please Court finding the defendant committed unfair or deceptive acts or practices in violation of state regulations, ordering the defendant to pay $49,450 as restitution for consumer damages, and to pay a $25,000 civil penalty. If by Oct. 31, 2024, the defendant pays the entire restitution balance of $49,450, then $15,000 of the $25,000 civil penalty shall be suspended, with the payments on the remaining civil penalty to be completed by March 31, 2025, according to court documents.
On Dec. 29, 2022, the Ohio Attorney General's office filed a civil lawsuit in Franklin County Common Pleas Court against defendants Pave Tech Asphalt Services LLC, 915 Distribution Dr., Unit C, Columbus, OH 43228.
The lawsuit alleges the business: failed to deliver some goods and services within eight weeks, accepted substantial payments from consumers but failed to begin work for which it was paid, refused to refund consumer deposits or payments despite consumer requests for refunds, sometimes began work but failed to complete the work, in some instances provided shoddy and substandard installation of asphalt and pavement, driveway and pavement repair and other services and then failed to correct such work, in some instances caused damage to consumer properties, failed to honor the workmanship warranty on consumer contracts, failed to provide proper notice to consumers of their rights to cancel
