The transaction was paid in full 2 weeks after I dropped the White 2008 Chevrolet Impala SS off at Craig's Transmission & Auto Repair after I was told that the repair would only take a week. The date that the payment was made on was 6/11/2021. The amount paid in full was $2,200. In which they seemed desperate for the payment so that they could use the money for my vehicle repair so that they could attend a Drag Racing event.The Transmission still not shifting properly, I had to return the vehicle 2 more times. After the 3rd time I dropped the vehicle off they explained that the real reason for the vehicle not shifting properly was that their Transmission builder had recently quit on them and they had just found a new Transmission builder to repair the Transmission correctly. It took over 2 months total for me to get the car back and my Transmission still shifting hard going into 1st gear. Still not repaired correctly. I'm seeking to be refunded the amount of $2,200 so that I can take my vehicle to another shop that can repair it correctly. It's a 1 year warranty in place for the transaction. I would rather the BBB help resolve this issue due to me not wanting to get the run around from this Transmission shop anymore.Business response

Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2022/01/24) */ Yes we did do the work on the vechile. Yes we did ask for money half or more before we will even start on it . We do that to every one. As soon as we get half or more we will start working on it . So then he gave us the money after a couple of weeks of storing it with no charge . we ordered parts . At this time parts are hard to find and get . So after we got all of our parts together we did build it . It does have warranty. We will fix anything that's wrong with it that we did . The transmission builder did quit but we have 3 builders so that wouldn't be a issue anyways . Like we tell everyone. If theres a issue please bring it back as soon as possible because it is a transmission and it is very expensive. So we want it so it dont get damage more. I just want my money refunded so that I can take my car to another shop and have it repaired properly!!! I called Craig's Transmission & Auto Repair after looking on their website seeing that the shop was rated 5 star's and they told me that the repair would take a week at most and the cost would be $2,200. I didn't ask them to store my vehicle for 2 weeks. I had the payment for the repair ready when I called the first time I was told that it would only take 1 week to repair my vehicle. Instead, it took 2 weeks for them to have me come pick the vehicle up the first time only to find that it wasn't repaired properly. $2,200 paid in full, and it seemed that they were more concerned about my picking the vehicle up that day so that they could use the money that I paid for repairs so that they could attend a Drag Racing event that weekend! And after I picked the vehicle up the second time all of my items were stolen from the inside of my vehicle. I told them about my items missing from my vehicle and the mechanic basically just looked at me and shrugged his shoulder and acted like there was nothing they could do about it. At this point, this being my work vehicle that I have to commute back and forth to work in, I just want my damn vehicle fixed. I didn't expect that I would have to go through such a hassle to get my vehicle repaired at this shop seeing on their website that they were rated 5 star's. I'm so frustrated and disappointed. I didn't want to have to call police or anything, I just wanted my vehicle repaired properly after paying $2,200 of my hard earned money. Again after dropping the vehicle off 3 times over a course of 2 and a half months, my vehicle is still not shifting properly and snatching into first gear. And every time I dropped the vehicle off to let them know that it still wasn't running properly they would act very nasty like they were upset about me bringing the vehicle back. I would have to go by their shop to check to see if the vehicle was even being worked on because noone was contacting me to let me know anything. Such a inconvenience.I'm just so frustrated about the whole situation... That's why I contacted the BBB to see if I could get a resolution to this issue. I just want my damn money back so that I can take and have my vehicle fixed properly by a different Transmission shop... Business Response /* (4000, 9, 2022/01/31) */ We did do the work to his vehicle . The vehicle was in working order both times he brought it in . Why it took so long was because parts are hard to find and the shipping is also hard to get on time . We are not responsible for items stolen we always tell every client to please make sure there isnt anything in car to be stolen and we always lock every door before we leave . We do have signs stateing not responsible for items in car . But this is the first time hearing about this he never said anything to us when he would get his car back.
