FASTLANEAbout
Important information
- Additional Info:FastLane is a Manufacturing Extension Partnership (MEP) program located within the University of Dayton Research Institute (UDRI); our center is very new (less than 2 years old). MEP was created by NIST (department of U.S. Department of Commerce) partnering with Ohio Development Services Agency to help small/medium manufacturing companies become more innovative hence driving economic growth and job creation. FastLane is one of 6 Ohio MEP centers. The FastLane team helps manufacturing companies in the Dayton Region by connecting them to the right solutions. Our Manufacturing Growth Specialists (like me) act as unbiased 3rd party adviser/project manager to small/medium sized manufacturing companies to help whittle down their "I want to do list" and vet/project manage the solutions. This list often consists of product development, improvement ideas, training, certifications etc. These projects are often delayed simply because the focus is on getting product out the door on time, with excellent quality and within budget; leaving the important but not urgent to be ignored. By helping get these projects off the ground FastLane is able to help manufacturing companies accelerate their growth and profitability. Manufacturing companies do not pay for our time only for the solution itself.
