      Pay each month for warranty on hot water heater and when it went bad they refused to honor the warranty because my husband installed the old on 20 years ago, not a professional contractor. They took $100 off my credit card just for filing a claim.

      We purchased a home warranty at least that's what it is called our water heater went out they will only cover a 1000 dollars so i told them this isn't a warranty at all. They said if there was sediments in the water they wouldn't even cover the 1000 dollars this is a scam IGS shouldn't be advertising this is a home warranty.

      Our plans have protection limits for each item protected. You will find this is common practice with home warranty companies. While there are many things we protect, we also have exclusions. With any home warranty, you will want to make sure you review your Service Agreement to understand what is and isn't protected by the plan, as there will be some type of exclusions.

      I don't understand why at the beginning of a new year they cannot send a technician out to check my plumbing. They recommended I pay out of pocket for this - which is what I HAD TO DO during holidays when I had plumbing issue and would have to wait on this company for 2-3 days to even get a call back. I guess they don't want my business anymore???

      Going on 2ish weeks ago or so, we filed a claim with our IGS home warranty for our furnace. Everything went normal with the claim and someone came out to look at it. We didn’t look into who they sent at first because we trusted IGS. Then the technicians did not seem to know what they were doing and we grew concerned. We went with our gut and got a second opinion. At that point we had been given the option of a) putting a new heat exchange on it for 1200 or b) 2700 out of pocket for a new furnace. When our second opinion came out…..within seconds of looking at our furnace he spotted that first, the “technician” IGS sent out bypassed safety shut offs (a week ago when they left our property) and left the furnace sitting. Also, he immediately saw the problem, did a temp fix to confirm and sure enough had our furnace up and running in minutes. meanwhile IGS contractor first stated it was a pressure switch, then a control board, they billed around $600 - and the heat exchange would be another $1200ish. (Which wouldn’t have fixed the problem) We went with our gut that it felt they were just throwing parts on the furnace and don't know what they are doing. When bringing the issue to IGS their overall de-escalation customer service is great. But they had no answers for how we ended up with a company in our home who has no virtual presence to even report them as well as how they were going to make it right that the company even put our safety at risk . IGS said sorry but had no more to offer. Mind you, we have been without heat for weeks, causing a lot of other financial strains with a little one including commuting to heated homes of friends/family, additional childcare, eating out, electric from space heaters etc. there’s a lot of great home warranty companies to choose from, I’d run from this one purely due to their lack of care in who they contract and inability to make it right when they’ve screwed something up

      I hope the better Business bureau can figure out a way to put a stop to these scammers. Worst experience of my life dealing with their home warranty 9 months later we're freezing to death in this house because they do not stick up to their end of the bargain they charge outlandish rates $100 every time anybody comes out with no resolve to the problem! Absolutely ridiculous I have a disabled child and we have not had any kind of air during the 100° weather in the summer or any kind of heat in this freezing winter! They just want to get your money and I would not recommend anybody using IGS energy for a home warranty for electric or gas for nothing they are heartless and cruel! The customer definitely is not taking care of They need to be ashamed of themselves and somebody needs to shut them down
