Had them do a roof replacement and went in the attic to see their work for my self(I don't know why no one did that before me) there were multiple sheets of ply wood that were rotten and were not replaced also there were section that were completely missing ply wood. Also instead of replacing full sheets of ply wood they replaced sections as small as 2ft×2ft Also found out later that they contracted my roof out to someone else who isn't even on their pay roll, after sending pics to them of the poor workmanship, they came out to do a repair( on a brand new roof) after inspecting, after the repair I've still had rotten and missing plywood on my brand new roof, their comming out to do another repair on the roof, also during first repair the sales rep told me at 830am they were comming out that day to repair my roof after checking the cameras at the house the worker was there at 730am so I was unable to take the day off work and show him what needed done also they cut a access point in my roof to get into it, another unnecessary patch on the roof. I have a brand new roof with multiple repairs on it and it still isn't finish. After all this I wanted the owner to come to my house to see the work that his company is doing, the lady at the desk said she wasn't able to give me his number, the sales rep called to tell me other employees were coming out to talk to me, that was a nice way of him saying no I'm not talking or meeting with u. I can only imagine how many times they've done this in the past with people who don't check their work or are physically unable to get into their attic. Also my eve vents were installed incorrectly even their employee who looked at it agreed and also agreed with me it should have been done right the first time. With 4 to 5 patches on one side of a new roof, also there shingles that have been caulked down and on the sides i believe that is unacceptable on a new roof. There's also spots there they completely missed the trust nailing them down.

      Roof redone on 9/22

The peak of the roof shingles were installed crooked. There's gaps in about 4 or 5 shingles from where they weren't laid square when asked they said that's fine but its only in a few spots. They installed a ripped shingle which was replaced. Paid for a ridge cap and over the shingle ventilation system  and instalion which which wasn't used on my roof. When asked about it on final bill they said it was comparable to the attic fan and gable vents they installed but never got a break down on final bill. Also they got tar on my hot tub cover and I tried to scrub it with dawn dish soap and it didn't help. Which they recommended using. I told them it didn't work they said they were unsure about it

Kline Home Exteriors has addressed the concerns with the customer. The top roof line looks crooked and is not lining up properly because of structural irregularities that existed before the roofing project.  We explained this to the customer and he understood and was happy with our response.

Kline Home Exteriors has purchased the customer a new hot tub cover, which will be delivered to the customer as soon as it arrives.

Our manager spoke with the customer and the customer was happy with our company before he left the customers home.

a year and a half ago i had kline home exteriors do a complete renovation of my home exterior, roof, siding , and gutters. the company did horrible work from start to finish. the roof needed to be redone because they fastened the steel down to tight warping the metal. they replaced a rotten beam and made it smaller then what was originally there causing them to redo it .now im having issues with the vinyl siding . the manufacturer specifications call for approximately 1 inch of overlap on the siding panels but kline has 2 inches and more in the overlap. this overlap of material is causing gaps in the siding panels making it look bad and allowing moisture from rain and snow to get in and possibly let bugs get in behind the siding. kline has a ten year workmanship warranty on their work and they refuse to redo the poor workmanship on the siding. they did redo the poor workmanship on the roof , and the support beam (3 times). they did redo the shutters that were not put in level, and they did redo the water spigot blocks that were not level. and they did fix some of the siding that kept blowing off because they didnt nail it down. they did come out and fix some of the siding that was damaged during their install. and they did come out and fix the storm doors that were removed and put back up with only 2 fasteners holding them up. the pattern here is that they did a poor job on everything and had to redo everything because of poor workmanship. i paid 26,000 for all the work to be done. kline home exteriors has a 10 year workmanship warranty and i want them to stand by their work and the contract i signed and paid for. the siding was not installed to manufacturer specifications causing it to fail and not look as it should. with the gaps in the seams allows water to get in potentially damaging the house with moisture and possibly mold. also with the gaps in the siding wind has a greater possibility of pulling it off the house

We at Kline Home Exteriors have done everything to try and make this customer happy. We went to his house several times to address the various complaints he expressed. The photos submitted with this complaint have been addressed and repaired in the past. He was still unhappy after we addressed his complaints and we refunded the amount for the siding. We sent a check on March 15th from our company.

Company gave me a quote of $25,000 for a deck and verbally agreed to contract, they took a $4,000 withdrawal as down payment off of a line of credit, less then 24hrs later they tried to strong arm me into a $1,700 price increase claiming they needed more profit margin. To this point they have not returned the $4,000 withdrawal/deposit after I told them no. I believe this company is unscrupulous and is running a bit of a scam. I want my money back immediately.

Kline Home Exteriors presented a contract to the customer and they signed. After they signed, the customer wanted to make a change to the windows so we presented the customer with the additional charge. After that point they started getting upset at the price and asked to have the project cancelled. They applied for financing through EnerBank, our third party financing company. When they asked to cancel the project we contacted EnerBank and initiated the cancellation. The customer never paid us any money via cash or check. Everything was done through financing through EnerBank. We handled this situation in a professional timely manner.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID 16******* and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

This is ALL a blatant lie! No contract was signed with this business physically. A deal was discussed, they took a draw off a line of credit, and tried to increase an estimate $1700 with no changes. Windows aren’t even involved. This is getting ready to be a criminal complaint for theft.

      Regards,

The customer asked to add on blinds in the windows of 3 doors. 1 patio double door and 2 man doors. This change added roughly $1600 to the job. The customer signed off with *******k, the financing company, for a partial draw of $4000. The customer then asked to cancel the project on Friday October 22nd. Our accounting department reached out to *******k that same day to initiate the cancellation of the partial draw. Kline Home Exteriors never received any money, cash or check, from the customer. We have done our part to initiate the cancellation of the partial draw in a timely manner. There is nothing more we can do to resolve this as we have received no money from the customer to refund* ******** who the financing was through, is working on the cancellation.

      Regards,

      ***** *******

I am resolving the issue with ********, but the contractor continues to lie about what they did, and to finish resolving this I would like the contractor to have an once of integrity and admit we negotiated a verbally a at $25k for a deck and 3 doors with blinds inside, that they withdrew $4k off of a line of credit before sending me a price increase of over $1600 FOR THE SAME items and scope of work just hours later and then tried to strong arm me and run me around about returning the $4k when I said no. I want them to admit what they did and what they tried to pull and stop lying.
