In late February I purchased a used replacement transmission from dealer for roughly $**** when my transmission died. Three months later transmission began to leak fluid. Repaired transmission with them for roughly $***. Less than a month later transmission began to leak again, was told it was from a different spot and would cost almost $*** to repair again. When asked if they could cover the cost since the transmission was only in the car for less than 4 months they said they offered no guarantees that used transmissions would work properly hence why they are cheaper. When asked if anyone had inspected the transmission prior to installing owner told me that was not their responsibility. Seals are dry rotted in transmission, discovered transmission is not refurbished at all or bought from a reputable location but was instead sourced from a local junk yard with no guarantees on quality or proper storage or even proper functionality.Business response

1. Mr **** did not purchase his car from our dealership.
2. Mr **** was told a GM rebuilt transmission, with a limited warranty would cost $****.** plus tax. A used transmission , with no guarantees or warranty, would be installed for $****.** plus tax. Mr. **** chose the cheapest way to get his car back on the road, and understood what "no guarantee" meant.
3. When the transmission was installed, it had no leaks, shifted correctly and drove fine.
4. 101.251 installation mileage. 104.718 miles when customer complained. vehicle was driven 3467 miles
Why Mr. **** thinks I am and should be responsible for his leaks makes no sense.
2/1/22 purch trans
4/2/22 repair leak, bottom pan gasket 13180 m
6/6/22 leak appeared in side housing seal area
6/7/22 Mr **** was shown diagram of trans and the needed repairs estimate, He chose to take his car and drive away.

Better Business Bureau:
I have reviewed the offer made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of my decision appear below.
The vehicle was originally purchased from Brittain Motors by my Grandmother and handed down to me. So the statement that *I* did not purchase it there is true but a half truth as it is, indeed, a car from their dealership. The car was not driven 3000 miles from The time of the first leak to this most recent leak. They are responsible for compensation because of the fact that the owner admitted no one looked over the transmission when putting it in the car. And the leak began earlier than the service date, as I could not get it TO the dealership before that date, and it took time for them to repair it. I fail to see how it can "Be beyond" someone as to why I am unhappy with the situation. Also the cost of the used transmission was not $****. I was told it was upwards of $****, and was charged more than that. I can provide records of mileage, cost, place of original purchase, and phone logs of times and dates of all communication
Regards,
**** ****
