  On September 27, 2022, I gave Trevor W******* a check for Forty Thousand Dollars. Since then, he has not completed any repairs or work on my residence at *** ***** **** ******* ********* **** *****. The forty thousand dollars was a down payment for work to include demo, masonry work, permits, framing, electrical, and plumbing, amongst other things. I am seeking help getting my money returned because Trevor W******* has refused to return my money, stating that it would be messy. Please see attached emails, texts, and check.

  My response is limited due to legal reasons. I am engaging legal representation. In short we did complete work on this project. We had not obtained a building permit yet. There are limitations of what can be done without a permit. It was never officially relayed to me that there was a final source of financing in place to complete the project. I was hesitant from previous projects to go too far without knowing wed be able to complete the project. When i inquired the answers were vague. As a contractor i need to know the project will be able to be paid for to completion. Ms ***** asked for hr money back and it took me by surprise. A direct refund of cash is hard to quantify due to the work and steps we had already put in place. I told Ms ***** that it makes it messy. I was and am still willing to do the work to square up on the project. In many years of business not one customer has ever demanded a refund. I’ve never not completed a project so it’s never been an issue. 

  At this point I have to refer to legal counsel for further action.

  Trevor acknowledges in his response that he took the money, made plans did some work but did not want to proceed because he wanted to ensure I had all the funding. So, the question still stands if Trevor was concerned about the funding why did he take the initial money? And why did he claim he was ready to move forward with my project? Furthermore, the individual doing the financing is a friend of Trevor W******* and we have had multiple conference calls regarding the funding, so Trevor was aware of the plan to secure additional funding and his part in the matter which was to do work not just plan. Additionally, Trevor stated in an email response that he was going to begin framing etc. and that never occurred at the most he did a partial clean out and some demolition. Sorry no one has ever asked for money back, but from September until my first ask nearly six months had passed and he was never ever to produce an architect or engineer report to support his claims of making plans for my project. So I respectfully reject Trevor W******* response to my complaint.
