Today, 7/5/2024 I purchased earrings for my daughter at Kay Jewelers Outlet. My receipt was emailed to me, I never received a paper receipt. The sales associate mentioned how the jewelry was protected and if my daughter lost the back to her earrings she could get it replaced any time. I thought this was wonderful. What I didn't realize was that I was charged $24.99 for a lifetime protection plan. The associate made it sound like the protection was included with every purchase, no separate charge. I didn't realize until I got home and looked at my email that I was charged $24.99 for this protection, Contract # ************. Because the store was closed, I reached out to Kay Jewelers online and was informed that because this was an in store purchase, I would have to request cancellation and a refund of the plan from the store, they couldn't help me online. I do not live near the outlet stores, this was a special trip. I reached out as soon as I noticed this unauthorized charge. I feel it was a deceptive business practice. I would simply like this protection plan to be cancelled and my credit card credited back the $24.99
