On dec 22 ,2 023 Mid-towne auto center contacted ***** to add on a windshield repair to the list of ones he was coming that day to take car of already, Work was not completed properly and a small pin hole was left in the chip repair ( possibly where the resin was injected and not back filled properly ) IDK what sort of under the table deal was arranged between Mid-towne auto and Chips auto glass but according to their office they don't touch any vehicle without an invoice being drawn up . I was still at the dealership when the sales mgr called ***** and asked to have it added to the ones he was coming to do that day so perhaps it was added onto that invoice and not as a separate one or maybe wasn't done at all for some unknown reason. Now that the chip is getting worse because of the pin hole left the company doesn't want to do anything about it because they claim that they cant find any invoice of it being done . Maybe ***** knew his repair wasn't done correctly and wouldn't last and didn't want to have to warranty it so he failed to create a proper invoice , idk ?

My name is ***** ***** I have read the complaint and done a investigation into the allegations. First I would like to explain that we are a small used car lot that has been in business for 29 years with an impeccable reputation. We do not do any repairs here at our location of any kind. We do not have a repair facility at all. We do contract out repairs to trusted vendors. Chips Auto Glass has done many repairs for us and the reason we continue to use them is they have a great reputation also. The stated complaint is directed at Chips Auto Glass and not Mid-Towne Auto Center. We, as a courtesy to our customers, recommend certain repair facilities for repairs so the customer can get our discount. We do not pay for or do those repairs ourselves. We do not engage in “under the table arrangements” as our reputation is too important to us. The repair and warranty will be between the customer and the repair facility. We feel this complaint will need to be addressed by Chips Auto Glass.

      Sincerely,
      ***** *****

I do not agree with the response as the first lie was that  i was NOT "refereed" to chips for the repair , it was part of the sales deal on the vehicle which the dealer said he would have done at no cost to me as it was in the direct line of sight of the driver and was a safety issue. So his sales manager took my vehicle across the street to where he has all his mechanical work done and made the call to chips to ADD it onto the ones he was coming up to do that day and at the time i was not given any info on who that was .  Second if they do not "pay" for the repairs themselves then how do they have so many repairs and replacements done by chips ?  If "nothing under the table was done " then there will be an invoice number somewhere in someones records since chips claims to not touch any vehicle without one , and no such invoice was found by chips listed under mid-towne autos for my vehicle.and chips wont warranty the repair without the invoice number ,         The 2 people that offered to replace the windshield because they also claimed that they don't just take someones money for a car and then leave them hi and dry , **** ******* sales manager was the main one to offer the replacement  and then later on rescinded that offer and the other staff member that agreed with that the same day was  the older man that said he was a multi certified ase mechanic for 30 some odd years before but i don't remember his name . For a business that claims to have such an impeccable reputation for over 23 years ,that seems to have ended with me and this deal , especially the way he has taken advantage of a disabled senior citizen who has been buying and selling vehicles for 5 decades.

We have uploaded additional documents that we feel are important to this complaint. One being the "WE OWE" form that both the consumer and I signed. As you can see there was nothing promised when the consumer purchased the vehicle. We have maintained our professionalism through out this entire process. This consumer has filed complaints with the BBB and the Ohio Attorney General. The Ohio Attorney General has closed his complaint due to we paid the money due to cancel his financing, and they have found we have done nothing wrong or "shady".  As for the repairs to the consumers windshield, I reached out to Frontier Motors, the repair facility that we sent the vehicle to for repairs, along with Chips Auto Glass, according to Frontier Motors the consumer came at night when service dept. was closed and got his keys from a salesman and took his vehicle before any repairs could be made. That is why there is no invoice for the repair, he never let the repair get done. As stated before we normally let consumers use our recommended vendors so they can get our discount. However I don't feel we can do anything to satisfy this particular consumer as he feels he can do what he wants and claim being a disabled senior citizen is reason for us to give more than we agreed to. He has made harassing calls and emails to our female office manager and we still have tried to satisfy him. There really is no middle ground for us to go to.

      Thank you
