On March 30th we exchanged Facebook Messenger correspondence with Rob D*******, agreeing that Dennison’s Concrete Creations would perform a 16’x32’ stamped concrete pad installation at our residence. The agreement was for $8,900 to be performed as early as the middle of April, early May latest. On April 8th Rob D******* visited our residence to look over the planned installation, pick out the colors for the stamped concrete pour, and pick up a deposit of one-half the total project fee. Rob D******* had offered a $500 cost reduction if the deposit was made in cash, as well as noted he could also begin immediately vs. waiting for our deposit check to clear to begin. As so, and our want to begin the work immediately we paid a cash deposit in the amount of $4,200 and received the attached receipt from Rob D*******. Following his receipt of the deposit he began making numerous excuses of not being able to start work, colors chosen no longer available, stated he was in the hospital, then could not get gravel delivered, and for the most part would not answer or return phone calls, texts, or FB msgs. When asked if he needed to now decline the work based on his issues and return our deposit, he still indicated that he could perform the work. Upon further extensive lack of responding to calls, texts, FB msgs, we informed him that do to non-performance of the agreed work we required our deposit back and he agreed to do so and mail us a check. After repeated weeks of his failing to do so, we informed him we would have to proceed with taking actions to secure the return of our deposit. On May 25th he indicated that he could not return our deposit at this time for personal reasons and needed time to do so. We were then also contacted by another individual indicating the same situation. We feel we have been scammed out of a large amount of money by Rob D*******, and this done in a fraudulent manner
