A plumbing repair job required by the local health department was performed by Home Experts Heating Air Plumbing on or around September 30th 2022. The job in question took approximately 8 hours to perform with consideration that an additional 2 hours was used in preperation for the job prior to performing the work, for a total estimate of 10 hours of work. A $1,500 (Fifteen Hundred Dollars) payment was made upfront prior to work being performed, and an additional $500 (Five Hundered Dollars) paid once the work was completed. This is a total payment of $2,000 (Two Thousand Dollars) for a simple plumbing repair job. The work that was performed had to be inspected by the Health Department and modified once before final approval, and fixed two additional times after approval due to inadequate installation. Home Experts Heating Air Plumbing seeks an additional $1,045 (One Thousand Forty-Five Dollars) payment, for a total job cost of $3,045 (Three Thousand Forty-Five Dollars). The requested additional payment is exorbitant and unreasonable for the type and duration of work that was performed based on standard rates in the area. I am requesting that the company in question dissolve the balance due and accept the $2,000 (Two Thousand Dollars) already remitted, equivalent to approximately $200 per hour, as payment in full.

      Customer response

      06/26/2023

The quality of the work was subpar. And the scope of the work was overestimated. Upon proper evaluation and follow up repair work performed on the work in question, as well as receiving estimates from other companies for the same work, it was determined that Home Experts overcharged. The proper resolution would be to eliminate the balance due based on fair business practices and good faith.
