Constitute hired a plumber to do some work. He was charged $840.00. After working on the plumbing, it was not successful. The constituent called the plumber to come back and look at it. They were there for 3 hours and said they didn't know how to fix it. They refused to give him a refund. The next day he had different company come and had it fixed within 10 minute and a $40.00 charge.Business response

Business stated that they were hired to install a pump that the consumer supplied, which was also second hand. The monies paid was for installation of a product the business did not supply. When consumer called business back, they sent a senior tech out to assess the problem, at no cost, (again, did not supply the pump, so no warranty on the product) and the tech determined there was an issue with the pump, not the installation of the pump. Consumer was told to contact the manufacturer or to have a different plumbing company out to provide maintenance to the pump because Gunther's doesn't service that particular product.Customer response

we did not hire this company to install PUMPS of any kind they came highly recommended from a friend, with that in mind they were ask to install a NEW holding tank . perhaps thay got us mixed up with some other customer that is also dissatisfied. I have no ill feelings to the young fellow who attempted to do this project. he told me upfront he was not a master plumber but had put in lots of these tanks. when he got it hooked up it did not fill up with water as it should have. He left the project two times to get supplies he thought was needed.That did not work. He stated he did not know what else to do and he would ask some one more experienced the following day. Two days later the master plumber WITHOUT my asking and could not get it to work properly either. Before the first plumber left he stated he had to have a check for $ 850.00 even if did not work to keep his BOSS happy.
The following day we called another plumber he came out and fixed the problem in about 15 minutes. This cost was $40. We are OK with paying for this trial and error but NOT the amount charged. We think $ 200.00 is fair as initially everything was there that was needed to do this project. If needed I would be happy to show what was done incorrectly so if this should come up again these problems will not arise.

We advised customer we do not warranty customer supplied products and gave him price for installation prior to comensing work. He signed and approved. There was a defect with the pump upon installation. The technician who installed it returned at no charge to see if he could fix it as a courtesy. We also had a supervisor go out to evaluate and confirm it was installed property. It was in fact installed properly and supervisor recommended customer to call company that works on them as are company does not offer this service.

I am rejecting this response because: They did not give us a quote as they stated and we did not sign anything. They will have to produce such paperwork. Our pump was NOT defective . Technician did nothing as a courtesy but demand $850 dollars as he left without the installation working. The supervisor did not find this installed properly as it was not working!
