On 2/25/20219 I had Carpets by Otto install a new vinyl laminate plank flooring. The floors were bare, stripped by owner, and inspected before installation. They didn't bring the correct transition pieces and returned on 3/13/2021 to finish the installation. On 4/10/2021 the first signs of the floor having issues was showing and Carpets by Otto sent someone out to repair the cracking and sinking floor boards. Since then, I have had someone out to make repairs to the floor numerous times. Enough that Carpets by Otto contacted the flooring manufacturer, Shaw, to do an inspection. Shaw came out to my house on 2/25/2021 to do an inspection and found that the flooring has been installed incorrectly. The floor was not leveled or transitions used between rooms and doorways; which is what Shaw recommends for installation. The attached report states this conclusion and is the only page I was able to obtain from Carpets by Otto and they shared when they came out on 7/1/2021 to tear up and replace the entire floor according the manufacturers specifications. However, Carpets by Otto only brought three boxes of material. Since it had been so long, the dye lots were visibly different and even their installer said they didn't feel comfortable using those boxes and leaving me with spots that were a different color. At that time, it was recommended by the installer that I refuse the work and he would work with Carpets by Otto to come back with more boxes in order to redo all of the floor with the new materials. However, this is when Carpets by Otto stopped returning my phone calls and emails. It has now been over three months and I still haven't heard back from Carpets by Otto with a solution or what will be done to correct their installation error. They also refuse to provide the full copy of the inspection report to me as well. My floor has now broken so badly that it is becoming a tripping hazard between my kitchen and dining room.
