I found a few cute things whilst browsing the shop PBS website a few weeks ago, but since I am on a limited budget and couldn't justify the shipping cost, I left them in my online basket.On 7/30/2024, I got an email from ShopPBS with a discount code for free shipping, a pdf of which I have attached. The email also referenced an item in my cart. I was thrilled and immediately went to the website via the link provided in the email and went to check out, using the code provided (SHIPSHIP).But the code was not recognized; I got an error message stating "it was not associated with a promotion". I contacted Shop PBS through their webform and several hours later received a reply from "*****" with the puzzling response that they "did not have access to that information". What information? The code THEY sent ME? I replied to their email with my own, and attached a pdf of the email I received from them specifically saying free shipping, with a code provided. It wasn't until several days later that I finally got a reply (again from "*****") which said "we're sorry the code doesn't work for you. Please just place the order via call so that we can waive the shipping on your order."However, nowhere on the email was a phone number provided, and I didn't relish the headache of going to the trouble of tracking down a number, waiting on hold for an indeterminate time, and then speaking with somebody who had not a clue what I was talking about. I also find it interesting that the response from shopPBS at first was "there is no free shipping code", then when provided with proof, the response changed from "Oh, the code doesn't work for you", as if the code was now legit but I was doing something wrong. I don't understand why emails are sent out with an invalid code, and why shopPBS would have no record of that email.Where did the email come from if not from them? The runaround was ridiculous. Your customer service person (apparently there's only one?) was dismissive and unhelpful.
