In January I purchased a 2004 Mercury Monterey w/140,000 miles. I asked ****, my sales rep, if there was anything wrong with the engine or transmission, if the car had been in any accidents that caused frame damage, He replied the only damage was to the driver's side door in the back was off track and they had purchased the parts to fix it.
Took it for a test drive and lights and brakes worked, everything seemed fine. I put a $1000 down. I used my tax refund to finish paying.
I have called twice a week since the purchase date, but the door parts haven't come in.
I went out to my car two weeks ago and the front passenger tire was tilted. I called a mechanic who came out and looked at the car, and I was told there is extensive sub frame damage. He said the damage is old because it's all rusted over it. He said it would cost about $2700 to repair it, because the engine and transmission would have to be removed.
I returned to the dealership and spoke to the owner's brother, ****, and explained they need to make this right as I am a mother of 5 children, and I need transportation, and they knew this when they sold me the car. I explained that my mother who is taking me to work and helping me get my kids around will be moving to FL in 2 weeks, and I need a car.
**** said if I could get the vehicle back to them, their mechanic would take a look at it I asked if I could get a loaner while they looked at it. He said their insurance doesn't cover loaners.
