I have been a customer of ********************** for 5 years (2017 to present). That will no longer be the case. Based off of a video call estimate it was determined that a full toilet tank rebuild, along with replacing the water shutoff valve at the toilet in our master bath would likely need replaced. We worked with our home warranty company, IGS, to schedule Discount Drains as they are a preferred vendor. We schedule for Friday, 7/8, between 9a-1p. The scheduler asked if it be okay if they even arrived earlier (i.e., 8:15/8:30am). We said yes knowing it unlikely they would arrive at that time. What we didn't know is that Discount Drains would fail to arrive anywhere between 9a-12p which left us having to call for an update. We were told they were running behind on job and they would arrive in the afternoon. However, the provided NO IDEA as to when. We were left assuming they would arrive between 1p-5p. We were left unable to address any commitments for the day waiting for service. It was at 6pm we once again had to contact discount drains because we were left unnotified of where the technician was. My wife called and they said the tech would be there in 10 minutes. The call with Discount Drains ended at 6:21pm which meant they should have been there by 6:31. It was after 7pm and we were once again left with no update and had to call back yet again. The after hours rep couldn't identify where the tech was. The tech finally arrived at 7:18 pm. He came in ill-prepared. No bucket, no rags to mop up water. He leaked water all over our floor and I was left to have to clean it up and get him a bucket. He is on the phone right now with someone from his office and sounds incapable of finishing the job. I will not use Discount Drains again.

Called Discount Drains out to investigate a leaking drain. First plumber came out and found the leak. He replaced the trap to the shower, which did not fix the leak. He then tried to sodder the connection between the shower drain and new trap. This did not fix the leak and was told that the entire shower base needed to be replaced. The new trap he installed hung lower than the ceiling joist making it impossible to repair the hole he cut into our ceiling. Second plumber came out to install the new shower floor. Upon removing the old shower floor, he informed us that the sub-floor needed to be replaced as well. I was not given an updated quote for replacing the sub-floor and the plumber said, I do not think they will charge you extra for this.... When he finished, he attached the trap (still hanging below the ceiling) and had me sign for the work. I noticed the next day that they charged my credit card 300 dollars more than the original quote. When asked I was informed that this was the for additional work. I asked for another plumber to come out and fix the trap. Third plumber was a no call no show which cost me a vacation day at work. Forth plumber came out and was able to rework the trap in such a way that the trap no longer sat below the bottom of the ceiling joist. Unfortunately, he did not take the time to look at the shower floor once he was complete otherwise, he would have seen 2 inches of pipe now sitting above the floor of the shower. Fifth plumber came out and was able to cut away the exposed pipe from the shower floor and informed me that the trap was left empty which was allowing sewer gas to escape back up into the bathroom. I am now confident that if a competent plumber would have been sent out initially, they would have been able to fix the initial leak without having to replace the entire shower floor and costing me about an extra $1000. I will never use this company ever again.

***** thank you for bringing this matter to our attention. After reviewing the job and speaking with the technicians, we can assure you the pan and trap needed to be replaced. We tried to repair the trap to save replacement cost, but unfortunately it was unrepairable. The shower has been leaking quite a long time which has caused the sub floor to be rotted out. This a common issue with older shower pans and drains.The $300 was a material charge. We apologize that it was not communicated clearly to you and the $300 was refunded back. We want every customer to have a wonderful experience with our company and we are sorry your experience fell short of that.

DD saved us $$$, from hundreds to thousands, depending upon the competitor. We had four estimates, DD being the lowest. DD gave us several options to solve the problems. Kaylan and **** worked in the rain to clear our downspouts and drains to the curb. Our drains are now open and rain water is directed to the curb. Highly recommend DD, cost effective and efficient.
