I requested a refrigerator repair through ****, and they sent Rick S to perform the repair on November 1, 2021. He said the refrigerator needed a new compressor/pump or to be replaced, and tried to convince me to purchase a replacement refrigerator through him, and stated I would need to pay up front for the part or refrigerator. After discussion with my husband, we agreed to have the refrigerator repaired. Rick S said I needed to pay for the part up front through ***** and I accordingly sent $613 plus tax ($649.78) to the cell phone he provided (###-###-####), which is associated with Res Home Renovations, on November 8, 2021. He confirmed receipt via text and indicated he would order the part. On November 22 ,2021, I followed up with a text and he indicated that he had called and the part was still on order, and that he had ordered it through a wholesales. I followed up on November 30, leaving a voicemail message asking for him to send me a copy of the order and name of the wholesaler so I could try to expedite getting the part. I then sent a text asking him to respond to the voicemail on December 1, 2021, and got a text purporting to be from his wife indicating he was hospitalized with COVID and she didn't know what was going on with his jobs. I then looked him up on the BBB website and read previous complaints showing he had a pattern of taking money for work not performed, indicating he had COVID or other reasons for delays, etc. On December 3, 2021, I requested that he return the $649.78 through *****. My refrigerator was repaired on Monday, December 6, by a different company. It did not need a new compressor; the problem was an electrical wire. I called **** from my husband's cell phone and he answered, and I told him I needed him to return the money I paid through *****. He said all right and hung up. On December 7, I texted that I needed him to return the money for the part he hadn't ordered and received a profane response.
