On 05/16/23, I paid half down on Invoice ******** in the amount of $2,550.00 for a 9x9 cedar pergola to be built and for two existing pergolas to be stripped/primed and painted by a painting crew **** subs out that are" professional painters ". Check # ***** was cashed by **** ***** on 05/17/23 at 5th Third bank in Lima,OH. **** sent out one single female worker who stated she was subbed out by **** for the job. She didn't show up to work twice first she stated that her mother had died and later on she told me she had beeen partying that weekend and could not work. The worker was at my residence for 4 days with minimal work that was completed. The pergolas were NOT Stripped/primed and or painted . The painter did not power wash or attempt to remove the mold and or algae prior to painting what has been painted. I canceled the building of the cedar pergola as I had lost confidence in this contractor I have screen shots of his agreeance to refund my deposit minus the $900 to paint the two pergolas( if they are competed appropriately) The painter has damaged my property by paint spills all over my new pavers under the pergolas and all over my new concrete driveway. Also, an antique $500 Victorian brass basket was ruined by getting paint all over it No tarps were put down prior to painting No items were moved prior to painting Contractor was never on job site to look at the damages. Contractor stated he would bring a product over to remove the paint stains and never did. I have asked for an updated invoice canceling the pergolg being built and to have my refund sent. Contractor is making numerous excuses and not refunding the excess of my deposit stating her needs to complete the paint job first and deduct extras to the refund. The contractor was to comoete the job himself today and sent out the female who damaged my property and is clearly not a painter. Contractor has refused to complete paint job and refused to refund my deposit
