Transactions occurred over 6 weeks. Original contract can be provided but is locked in Adobe with password. Signing was September 18, 2023. Entire project was to be completed in 8 weeks. Paid $14,213 for materials. Only received receipts for $13,206.43. Want reimbursed for $1,006.57 Paid $8,670 for labor which included (Phase 1: demo, all electric repair, all plumbing, all drywall work, replacement of baseboard heaters), (Phase 2: window installation, interior / exterior painting, door installation.) Paid 30% of total labor at contract signature ($5202) and also ($3468) at Phase 1 end, even though Phase 1 items were not completed. Phase 2 items windows and outside paint were begun during Phase 1, covered with 30% initial payment. Workmanship was extremely poor in all areas. Met with contractor in-person weekly on Sunday (over 6 week period) to review issues in person. Spoke to contractor multiple times (in text) about being behind timeline, and getting additional help to catch up. Contractor continued to fall behind. Also, sent photographs to contractor of specific items that needed to be fixed including major drywall issues, horrific exterior painting job, HVAC work not being completed that I already paid for, electrical work not completed that I had paid for, and other smaller items. Finally, On Nov. 13, 2023 I told the company I was letting them go and expected to be reimbursed for the shoddy work that had been done. Over the next 5 weeks a new crew was hired, corrected all issues and completed the job. This crew of sub-contractors kept details on the invoices they sent about all re-work based on the quality of the original contractor. I sent two emails letting AID Remodeling know I wanted to be reimbursed, one on Nov. 16, 2023 and a final (with all receipts/invoices) on Jan. 4, 2024. I never received a response to either. I am seeking $10,799.46 refund. I have all receipts and can send but they won't fit in the upload option.
