My long term psychiatrist had an immediate emergency and was forced to leave her practice. I take medication that someone cannot just stop without life threatening effects. I was able to get in to CBHSD and see *************************** relatively fast, and had spoken with her prior to the appointment and during the appointment that my medication would be refilled. I have been on the medications for over ************************************************************ to stay the course as they were working. I also explained by switching to her I would no longer have temporary refills from my old practice so I needed to make sure she would cover my medications.I could have chose anither doctor's ****** or even temporarily had my existing practice prescribe the medications, but I wanted to establish a doctor and she was close by.At our initial consultation she seemed very understanding. The only thing I did notice was she had signs around about no refills without appointments or that to speak to her on the phone you would be charged. I didn't think much of it,My second appointment essentially all she did was criticize me and talk over me. She kept suggesting a medication that I repeatedly told her caused suicidal thoughts when I'd taken it, but she didn't listen. She lowered my dosage a little bit but then tried to lower it again in a matter of days, something that has caused me in patient stays and constant monitoring in the past, and less of a duration between tapering than that.While I was furious at this doctor for not even giving me a chance to speak and just relentlessly berating me, I listened to what she said and was calm.I left and she at least promised to prescribe the medications, however I called a few times that day and was given no response and my parents (whom I gave permission) she also ignored.She ended up telling me she wanted to reschedule with a second psychiatrist,breaking the agreement we made prior to having her and at our appointment.
