Haury Concrete (******) was hired to install a floor in my 40'x60' pole barn in August '21. There are numerous issues with the work performed and ****** has made no effort to correct any of the problems. 1. The grading of the floor at the overhead doors allows water to pond inside the building when it rains. 2. The majority of the floor was machine troweled except for one area which was finished by hand. This created an area that is a completely different texture and color which stands out dramatically. 3. There was to be reinforcing mesh installed. When Haury arrived to pour the concrete, he did not have mesh onsite, claiming it was unavailable. I immediately determined Menards 15 miles away had it in stock. I had to pick up and pay for the mesh personally. If I would have not caught onto the fact that they did not have the mesh with them, the floor would have been poured without reinforcement. 4. Due to Haury putting off my project until mid November, I had concern that there may be freezing temperatures, which requires use of accelerator. Accelerator weakens concrete and causes crazing. I made it clear that I did not want it used. I told ******, if the weather gets too cold, I want to wait until spring to avoid use of an accelerator. Accelerator was used and I was charged extra for it. The entire floor is covered in crazing fissures. 5. A ratwall was supposed to installed around the entire perimeter of the building. They only installed part of the ratwall as ****** claimed the east wall of the building was too difficult to dig by hand. They should have brought equipment to dig if necessary. 6. Concrete seeped out to the exterior of the building around areas that were not graded properly creating issues with landscaping and looks very bad. ****** has been unwilling to work towards a resolution to any of these issues. Since he was paid at project completion, he has not been out address any concerns. I appreciate the BBB's help resolving this matter!Business response

I have given him $600 dollars back for the dent in the back. There was existing stone driveway so that is the reason why he said don't worry about that because he was going to put a new driveway in. The accelerator was the same all around the building. I called the concrete company to make sure that they didn't put something different. There is nothing we can do about the concrete color.

I am rejecting this response because:It appears that ****** at Haury Concrete did not take the time to read the correspondence in detail. There was no mention in my complaint with the BBB regarding the damage to the building that he credited me $200 for (Not the $600 he claims!). That concern has been resolved, so I am not certain why he brings up that situation while ignoring the other issues.
His response did not address the issues of the rain running in the building due to grading or the concrete oozing out all over the exterior perimeter of the building (Among the other concerns in the complaint he failed to address as well). I feel that he is making no attempt to try to rectify any of the issues. I should not have to pay a full price premium on a project that was not completed properly. It would be obvious to anyone who sees the pictures and reads the BBB complaint that the job did not come close to being 100% the way it should be. I paid for the job to be done right and in the end, it is flawed. If Haury concrete is unwilling to repair the issues at hand, I feel a partial refund is owed to compensate me for the sub par workmanship. I am willing to work with Haury Concrete to come up with an amicable solution.
Sincerely,

The way he had us do the barn its going to go to the middle of the barn. That's what the drains are for. So driveway is graded above the barn. He also never put a overhang on the garage.

Complaint: ********
I am rejecting this response because:Haury Concrete states in their response that the driveway is above the grade of the concrete barn floor causing the water to run in, which is not the case. The stone driveway was professionally installed by Dave's Services out of Wauseon, OH using laser equipment to ensure that water runs away from the building. The driveway was installed after Haury was last at my property, so I do not know how he can say whether or not the driveway is higher than his floor.
I have attached additional pictures that show that the driveway is below the barn floor and sloped away from the building. The water that comes in the building is all of the water that contacts and runs down the doors. If the concrete was sloped properly, no outside water would be coming in whatsoever. Drains are to get water out of the building that comes off cars from snow melt, washing etc. I can not imagine anyone wants outside water to run in every time there is rain. It is a major concern as I cannot leave anything near the doors that can be damaged by water. Also, during winter, there is the potential for the water freezing, causing a fall/safety concern. Haury also states that the building does not have overhangs, which is also incorrect. The entire 4 sides of the barn have overhangs.
Sincerely,

to me
********, here is another picture to add to your file. I noticed on the concrete that is discolored that there are a few spots that have popped exposing the aggregate underneath.
Thanks,
