My dog went to Downrange K-9 at the beginning of this year. We were promised 3 weeks of training with photo and video updates about how the board and train was going. Also promised 4 trainings included in the price after he was brought back to our home. I was told my dog was staying at their home in their dining room. I was only ever given one picture and video update in what turned into 4 weeks of them keeping my dog. I found out from a friend that they are using a barn to keep the dogs in for the training. When I asked about this barn, I was told it was their fathers barn over the phone. When I texted again about this barn, I was then told that this was a friends barn. But "my dog was not staying there". When it came time for my dog to come, I got a skinny dog who had sores on all of his paws and scratches on his nose. I do not believe my dog was abused but I do believe when someone's dog get injury, it at least warrants a call to the owner. He only addressed the scratches on his nose saying he was trying to get out of the cage. The weight was addressed at drop off and I was told "he was feeding him 5 cups a day but the weight loss is from extensive training". This is very possibly but shocking to see when you haven't see a picture of your dog for 3 weeks. We scheduled for our training to be on February 14th. The trainer texted and said he had to rescheduled. When we rescheduled I accidentally forgot about a previous job obligation. That rescheduling was on me. The third rescheduling was because of rain on the trainer part. The final meeting was scheduled for February 21st, the trainer did not show up. 5 days later, even when I was sending multiple texts. Then he replies that he was sick and he would like to continue the training. This was immediately after I asked for a refund. But I told him I did not want to move forward with the training since we are weeks out. He refuses to responsed back to me now. I am asking for compensation for the lack of follow through.
