On July 4th 2023, I and a friend wished to go to Land of Illusion for the Aquatics (pool), sandy beaches, even alcholic drinks available. We ordered our tickets on-line as they were supposed to be cheaper and get us in faster. With the processing fee of $8 this was not cheaper, but that isn't the issue. No where on their webiste (later we found it under "Frequently asked questions") which we had not looked at because we never would have thought to ask as we have never had the following issue come up at another other pool we have been to and I am 62 years old. With no indication of their hard and fast rule that No One, including adults, were aloud to swim without wearing a life jacket. As we knew we couldn't get the sun we wanted, and for me, more importantly I wanted to swim to help with some arthritis my doctor had previous found. Trying to wear a life jacket and swim was not going to give me any benefit. I called on 7/5 and left a message as no one answered. I called again on Friday 7/7, spoke to a lady that told me she would tell the owner, and have her call me back as I wanted to get my money back as we did not want to wear life jackets. I even stated we would forgo the $7 parking fee as that is where we learned that we would have to wear these jackets. However, I have not received a response to either call and feel that they should have made this a pop up so we would have known their rule and never bought the tickets. The total paid was $40.98 including $7 parking fee. I am looking to get back the money for the tickets as I don't feel any reasonable person would assume this kind of rule applied to adults (I understand totally for kids). We asked someone else visiting and they told us a child had died there last season, but I don't see how that applies to adults. I don't think this is fair without expecting the customer to know this without it prominently on the website. Thank you.Initial Complaint

My husband and I decided that we would take our children to their amusement park, ages 10, 9, 4, 2, and 1. We were denied service due to not being able to carry in a bottle for our baby and toddlers, not any waters or snacks for our extremely always hungry toddlers. They had stated absolutely not and the owner got a very bad attitude straight out of the gate with it and was not at all understanding. Her employee was trying to be nicer than she was, but she had come up to the conversation and told him I will handle this, then proceeded to tell me absolutely not you have to buy our food after we’d spent $200 on the park prior to even entering it, and $5 for parking as well. She had stated if we didn’t have a medically necessary reasoning for bringing food or drinks in then we had to proceed to pay for a $7 hot dog for just one of our kids, as if being 4 and under was not reasoning enough for food and drinks. We had stated that we wanted a refund and she stated we do not give refunds so you will just have to leave. My kids were crying as they had been looking forward to it all weekend, my husband and I were extremely upset. I let her know that I will be contacting the bbb about this confrontational ordeal over food and drinks for babies and that’s when she’d stated she will give us a refund. But this is utterly unacceptable to parents with small children. I can relate for alcoholic drinks but a lot of parents definitely don’t drink when they have their babies with us being included in that bunch. All we wanted to do was make sure our children were appropriately hydrated and fed whilst avoiding another $150 tacked on for the day. Even kings island let’s you have outside food and drinks for children.
