In January, 2023 I received an estimate for a bathroom remodel and front door, frame-door-screen door replacement, which I already had. This estimate was on yellow paper written by Derek B******* I paid Mr. Barkley $2,000 cash for a down payment that day and the amount was written on the paper as well as what articles I was to purchase and have available for the remodel. I did this, the purchases. On April 4, 2023 I paid an additional $3200 in cash to Mr. Barkley in hopes of the completion of the work as he had begun some of the remodel. After totally shoddy and unacceptable workmanship and so many screw ups that I believe he didn't know what to do with the mess, he ghosted me. After several attempts to contact him and get resolution, I had no alternative but to hire other persons to try to get some running water, door repair or hanging, etc. I am currently out a total of $1350.00 additional payment for workers over a period of the last few months and, at the age of 67 I found myself having to do drywall, painting, sanding, etc., to complete work I paid Derek Barkley for already. I want this amount returned. I do not feel that I am asking for anything I do not deserve. It is only for the additional workers I hired, not for personal work I have to complete or work I had family or friends complete for me. He left this elderly widow in a bind that no person, man or woman, should be in. I used retirement money to give him so he knows he took me for a ride and I had nothing I could do.
