I hired *********************** of Knox Construction to rehab my house in February 2020. The rehab was part of the home purchase which allocated ******* dollars to the rehab. ******* did get ****** of the ******* allocated before i fired him in August of 2020. ******* was supposed to keep me informed of the progress of the rehab and do a walk thru prior to each disbursement of funds. He would not. He initially told me it would *********** months to complete. For 8 months it appeared as if very little was being done. He charged me **** dollars to install a back door that still does not close right. He installed a hall bathroom shower that leaks into the basement every time someone takes a shower and needs to be completely replaced. He hired a floor installer that he gave **** dollars to start installing my wood floors. The installer placed about 30 square feet of flooring without taking off the molding. And then disappeared, not to be seen again. Now the entire floor would need to be installed that way. ******* claimed **** dollars for remediation of the basement. He did not clean the basement and would not discuss with me what he was doing in the basement. I power washed the basement one day and ******* cussed me out for being at the house. This was 8 months after the project was started and I fired him soon after. Before he left he vandalized my home by putting a tennis ball in my sump pump and made 5 random complete cuts into the subfloor boards in the basement. I had to pay to have these reinforced by the new contractor. The job site was cluttered with demo materials the whole time. I chose not to suit him because he is my son's wife's stepfather and my son asked me not to. But I need to let the public know about the poor work ethic, poor communication, and faulty workmanship that I experienced with Knox Construction.
