Stay far away from TF Construction for any stamped concrete patio work. What was promised and what I received were night and day difference. Absolutely horrible. They let the concrete harden up because they sat around on their lunch break drinking beers. By the time they started the stamping process it was too hard which required them to pound on the skins extra hard causing an extremely uneven look and looks like a checkerboard pattern. The border is not even a contrasting color, and the pitches for the drains are too deep causing all my furniture to lean. Not even 5 months later and the drains are not even draining anymore.

TF Construction Inc. fulfilled its contractual obligations of removing an existing patio and replacing it with a stamped patio as well as installing a new stamped walkway along the side of the home. In addition, I went above and beyond our contractual obligation, at no extra charge, for relocating trees and bushes, and other landscaping tasks performed on the job. I did extra work for this customer at NO CHARGE because she is related to a very good friend of mine. I even installed a stamped walkway at her parent’s home prior to doing her job. I received accolades from both her and her parent’s on how beautiful it was. The customer complaining about the concrete being too hard to stamp is false. This customer would not know, otherwise, how to pour and stamp concrete. All concrete stamps come with a stomper. Impacting the stamp with a stomper is what sets off the release color in the pattern. It was a marbleized color, and the border was also marbleized, but a darker color as she had requested and stated in our contract. After the job was completed, she complained that some areas of the patio were ‘too light’. To rectify this, I stained and resealed the entire patio. I asked her to look at it when I was finished to ensure she was satisfied. She indicated to me that it looked great and she loved it. In regard to the drains, they were replaced, not added. I would post pictures of her patio and walkway, if it was possible, on this response. I have been using those pictures to successfully contract customers this year already. Her comment, “drinking during lunch”, is also a very serious, FALSE accusation and is a defamation on my character and my business. She continuously offered alcohol to me and my workers, which we declined each time. When the job was COMPLETE, I treated my crew to pizza and beverages (water, beer, pop). There isn’t time to have ‘lunch’ when pouring and stamping concrete, nor did we. The customer indicated to me that she was having another cement contractor come over and give her an estimate to tear out and replace the patio I just completed. The contractor told her, “There is nothing wrong with this patio, it looks beautiful” and refused to take the job. Unbeknownst to her, I found out what that contractor advised her as he informed one of my finishers. This entire complaint is a farse and was nothing but an attempt to get a $16,500 job for half the cost. I was forewarned by individuals that know this customer to beware of her antics as she repeatedly does this. Hiring contractors to do work for her, then complains about it and insists she get some, or all her money back. She asked me for $7,500 back to defer her complaint on this job. I declined since 1) there was nothing wrong with the work and 2) I sited her past conduct with the other contractors to get a job well down for almost nothing. She was angry and decided to retaliate by submitting a complaint to the BBB. I have been in business for 25 years and did concrete for 15 years prior. This complaint is a first.

OK it’s your lie tell it like you want. In response to me offering you alcohol over and over is a lie, I offered you and your brother and son a beer the first day when the job was complete, you said you don’t drink beer you only drink hard liquor. Your brother happily obliged, after that I never offered you beer or alcohol again, I did however offer you water constantly and gave you open access to my refrigerator in the garage. As far as me having other contractors at my house prior to you coming out and me doing this repeatedly is an outright lie. I’ve never had any other contractors at my house prior to you other than my shed installation which I had no issues with whatsoever. They did a fantastic job. As far as me not understanding, how stamping works you are correct but after having 4 to 5 other contractors come out after your botch job, they all told me the same thing that you let it set up and it got too hard before you attempted to stamp. I never asked you for 7500 to defer a complaint, I asked you for half of the money back since I’m going to have to rip out the entire patio and start over with another contractor. It has only been seven months and there are already cracks in the patio. I too wish I could post some pictures however, this format does not allow me to do so.
