I was in a car accident where I hit a deer in May 2020. The car was taken to Mid city auto body and “repaired”. Costs totaling over $11,000. The same car was in an accident in January of this year involving ice. The car was taken to another body shop locally. At that time the damage was only totaling $1200. After further inspection the repair shop noted faulty repair work from the previous accident including a damaged frame making the car unsafe to drive. As well as many other structural damages. After market parts were also used in the repair without my knowledge or consent. Photo evidence was provided by the current body shop. The current body shop has reached out to them many times with no to little response. I have now had a rental car for >1 month and looking at more time. I was recommended to sue this company as the damage repair cost is estimated to be >$26,000. I now do not have a car, directly due to the negligence in repair of my car during initial repair. Mid city has offered no plan of action in repair or possible buy back of the vehicle. I am interested in them attempting to remedy the situation before legal action ensues. I have >50 photos supporting my claim as well as documentation from the current repair company that is attached in this complaint. We are sorry to hear about your recent accident on the ice that resulted in $1200 worth of damage. We are also sorry to hear that you have been informed that there may be additional damage to the front of your vehicle not related to the current accident rather the previous incident covered under Geico claim ****************-01 from 5/15/20. Mid-City auto body completed all approved repairs by Geico using methods and parts dictated by the policy that was purchased for the car. Upon reviewing the estimate forwarded to us for the additional damage it has been determined that all the operations listed would be additional work owed by Geico insurance. If there are corrective repairs that need to be made to the approved and completed work from 5/15/20, it would be our request to be able to inspect the vehicle at our location. If the vehicle only suffered $1200 worth on damages it should be drivable and available for inspection. We assume Geico has been contacted about both claims and called in to inspect the current and previous repairs at the facility the car is at now. Traditionally if an insurance company feels they “did not get everything they paid for” or that their insured is unhappy the insurance company will reach out to a repair facility to find a solution. To that point Geico has yet to contact Mid-City auto body concerning the claim from 5/15/20. After reviewing all the information submitted we do not see anything we are determining to be actionable at this time.
