5/30/24 we ended our lease with vanpolo inc and we were expecting our deposit back. the unit was not destroyed. there were no outstanding damages to the apartment everything was moved out and cleaned and the apartment had normal wear and tear. there was section of the floor that had damage and i was told it would cost 50 dollars. The day i returned the keys he told me he would be taking the whole deposit to replace the entire living room floor even though a tiny section was damaged. he complained of a cat odor but i paid 650 in total for pet fees to cover this exact situation. the house was thoroughly swept and mopped upon the representatives arrival. Throughout the 13 months we were there there was never any clean drinking water. the water smelt of sulfur and the wells filter was never changed. there was no internal cooling. no appliances. the house was full of ants and the walls had wasp nests inside. the handy man saw these nests and did nothing even though there was a paper that we signed saying the house was pest free. the landlord was unprofessional constantly late never answered texts and would only call to avoid a paper trail. every person who has had business with them all say the same thing. they consistently take peoples deposits. they have hurt my family financially and i wish to have this set right.
