      Purchased Product on Pre-Order on 11/23/2020. Order number ********  Item was $650. Charged credit card on 12/20/2020. Received order cancellation on 10/18/2021. Customer service and sales department were of no help re: ETA of availability of item. How does a company get away with charging someone out of $650 for 10 months just to “refund” it with no recourse?

      Good morning, While we do apologize, this product that has been on backorder has been discontinued by our distribution partners. 

      This was on backorder over the course of the order. Throughout the course of a backorder, we do have to process authorizations to ensure funds remain valid. As this was brought to our attention, this was discontinued and no longer able to be fulfilled, we had to cancel and a full refund was issued as this line item was no longer able to be received to be shipped. Again, our apologies this order was unable to be fulfilled.

      I purchased several ****** 7E8 hard drives from Provantage in 12/2020. These hard drives are advertised by ******* as having a 5 year warranty. Provantage claims to be an authorized dealer for *******. One of my hard drives failed and I submitted it to ******* for warranty replacement. ******* denied my claim saying it was an OEM drive. There is no disclosure on the provantage website that manufacturer warranties will not be honored and the manufacturer link on provantage's website takes you to the prodcut page where the 5 year warranty is listed. The hard drive has a 5 year warranty, but ******* says it is Provantage's responsibility to honor it and provantage says it is the manufacturers - essentially Provantage knows that the manufacturer will not honor any warranties of products they sell, but they do not disclose this on the product pages - they do, however, claim to be an Authorized dealer.

      Good afternoon, Provantage provides a 100% Satisfaction Guaranteed - 30 day return policy for all orders placed and shipped. This is an order that was placed on 12/31/20 which is the reason for denial... being over 9 months from date of purchase.

      While we do apologize ******* was unable to provide further warranty assistance, we can confirm we have worked with ******* for years selling their products. We will be processing a one time exception for this product. We will be issuing a return for this defective unit back to our main warehouse and we will work with ******* on our end to get this return completed to them. We have created Replacement ** ******* to ship today at no cost. We just ask that the original product is returned, or replacement will need to be invoiced. 

      This product needs to be returned for one time exception. Please be advised, for all future orders we provide a 30 day return policy.

      Better Business Bureau:

      I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********. I accept this resolution, but find it troubling that a customer is required to have knowledge of the contract between the Manufacturer and the seller in order to determine the advertised manufacturer warranty.  I will wait until for the business to perform this action and, if it does, will consider this complaint resolved.
