In 2021, we contracted Millstone Services out of Cleveland to create a Class 1, Div 2 electrical zone for our distillery. This included required ventilation. Millstone contracted with Central Ohio Plumbing to do the ventilation work. Part of the ventilation was to provide pre-heat to the outside air feed. It never worked right, but we did not know that, as heat is not needed for 9 months out of the year. When we started to use it, we found out that it did not work. *** ****** visited several times to look into it. After several months, he brought some other people out to assist with the repairs. In the process, the other resources blew out the thermostat. We requested that Central Ohio fix this issue. After a few more months of getting parts, they came back and supposedly fixed it. They then sent the bill to Iron Vault. We did not contract with Central Ohio for the work, Millstone did. Now, Central Ohio turned us into a debt collector. This is not an Iron Vault Distillery issue. Central Ohio did very low quality work and are trying to get us to pay to fix their own mistakes. We have tried to explain this to Central Ohio, but nobody there really cares. I recommend all businesses avoid using them. They are a low quality business.

**** *******, of Iron Vault Distillery, called to request HVAC service on January 26, 2023.  Upon job site arrival, it was determined that the sensor in the recirculation unit had melted due to it being turned on for heat, per the onsite maintenance guy, causing the sensor to melt.  The recirculation unit is not designed to be a furnace. Several attempts were made to collect payment, a note was received July 11, 2023 from Iron Vault Distillery stating that they were not responsible for payment and gave incomplete billing information for the “third party”.  There was never any previous mention of a “third party” being responsible for payment until it became time to pay.  Several more attempts were made to collect payment from Iron Vault Distillery with no success.  If a “third party” was to pay the bill, it was Iron Vault Distillery’s responsibility to forward the invoice to them for payment.  This was sent to collections on September 27, 2023.  The Daily Logs List, in regard to this job, is attached.

This issue is in reference to the amount being quoted vs. the amount charged for HVAC services... On March 30, 2022, I had HVAC company inspect the outdoor unit of my heating/cooling system. The tech for that company confirmed the problem was a leak where the copper lines connected to the outdoor unit ... needed reflared and the unit recharged. Before I agreed, I called other companies to make sure I was getting a reasonable price. I contacted CENTRAL OHIO HEATING and advised the woman who answered the phone of my problem. I specifically advised her that I just had an HVAC tech confirm the problem and what I needed was a quote on repairing the unit... "reflaring the lines and recharging the unit". She said, we usually come out to diagnose the problem but since you already know let me check with someone. She put me on hold for a few minutes and then returned and specifically told me the charge would be "$92 for the first hour and $75 for each additional hour, plus any materials used". I advised her the type of coolant needed and the amount needed (because my unit was completely empty - which was about 4lbs @ $1.75 pr/oz). I agreed to the service... out of 3 others they seemed to have the best price. In April, CENTRAL OHIO Tech came to my home to repair the unit. He arrived at approximately 1pm. At one point the tech said he had to redo it because his first attempt wasn't holding. The tech completed the job after 2 1/2 hours(keeping track of the time as I was planning on paying the tech) I must also advise that I was NEVER told of a "Service Call" fee BUT I was later charged for it and was told by the manager(KEN) that the "Service Charge" is the fee to come out and diagnose the problem. I was charged $75 more that I was quoted. The tech was at my home for 2 1/2 hours and used 70oz of coolant. Was charged $402. Should have been $327. I paid $340. Sent to collections for $85 w/late fee. I have recordings of calls and will file a small claims suit if not fixed.

$92.00 was the service charge.  This customer was charged an hourly rate thereafter, and a credit memo was issured to adjust for an inadvertent overcharge.  A service was provided and tbe customer choose not to pay the the bill in it's entirety, thererfore it was sent to collections.   He owes the balance.  Please contact us with further questions.  Thank you.
