  I took my automobile to Best One Tire on 4-18-23 to get a 4 wheel alignment performed on the vehicle. So they pull the car in look under it and bring the car back out saying they cant do the work because a control arm was loose so they did absolutely nothing to the vehicle. My girlfriend goes in to get our keys and was charged a 23.00 bill for Best One employee labor hour. Why would I be entitle to pay a place that did nothing to my car. Said it was an inspection fee, there was nothing to inspect i told them what i wanted done and they didnt do it and i still got charged 23.00, doesnt seem right or fair to me. So if you could please help get my money returned that would be great, thank you so much have a great day...

  I am the General Manger at Best One Tire and Service in Piqua, OH. Located at 1241 Ash Street. I recently noticed a negative rating with The Better Business Bureau. After reading the complaint I would like to respond to the matter that was mentioned. The vehicle in question was brought in for an alignment, after pulling the car in and putting it on the hoist to start the work the lower control arm / lower ball joint assemblies were found to be loose/worn. With these components excessively worn an accurate alignment can not be performed as well as it being a safety concern. We brought this issue to the customers attention, gave an estimate on repairs and they declined to have the issue corrected. We informed them that the alignment could not be done at this time and only charged them for the alignment check of $19.95, with shop supplies and tax the total came to $23.06. We informed the customer that if they repaired the worn components elsewhere and brought the vehicle back within a month that the $19.95 would be credited towards the alignment when it was done.  The charge for the alignment check is in place to cover payroll expenses and other costs associated with the time required to pull the vehicle in the shop, access the vehicle condition and determine if the requested work can be done safely and correctly. This is not any different than the diagnostic fee many repair shops charge to determine what an issue is in order to come up with a diagnosis for a customer in order to quote the work required. Shops do this because many people attempt to use a shop for diagnostic purposes and attempt to do the repair independently.
