            BBB Investigation Results

            In June, 2021, BBB opened an investigation into S & M Relo’s business practices due to an influx of complaints and Customer Reviews. Consumers allege unsatisfactory service, failure to deliver items on time, and/or receiving damaged items. Further consumers allege they had not contracted with S&M Relo, but with a broker who subcontracted the move out to them. 

            Looking at the Delaware County Auditor's website and Google Maps, the address the business is using is a commercial property with at least 3 outbuildings. BBB does not know whether their offices are located there as well.

            BBB verified active USDOT 03253956 and Public Utilities Commission of Ohio license (CPCN#00605423) as such licenses are required for movers offering interstate (i.e. across state lines) moving services.


            On 11/24/2021, BBB emailed S & M Relo asking them to address underlying causes for the pattern of complaints and Customer Reviews BBB has received. As of 2/3/2022, BBB has not received a reply.

            BBB has referred consumers to contact the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration for additional assistance.

            Consumers report to BBB they hired a moving broker, often unknowingly, who sent S & M Relo to perform the move. If using a moving broker, BBB advises consumers to ask which company will be responsible for the move and research that company prior to signing a contract.  Consumers should not agree to a mover until they have researched the business.
