      We contacted ******** ***** Avila to do the catering for my daughter's wedding. She was known by the groom. They agreed to do the wedding sent us a menu and an invoice. We paid by check what they requested for the deposit the amount we paid was $628.07. I had questions about their services and could not get ahold of her. She finally told my daughter I could call her an a Wednesday before 3pm. We agreeed that I would call on my lunch hour. She did not a answer her phone and never returned my call from the message I left. We waited at least a week amd she never called. We once again tried several time via text to get ahold of her. With no reply. She did finally text my daughter back and they agree that we would have a phone call meeting at 2:30pm on the next Sunday. My daughter confirmed with her Saturday we were still set for Sunday at 2:30. She confirmed again on Sunday morning. We called at 2:30 and no answer again at 2:40 still no answer. At this point we are a month from the wedding and we were supposed to be making a final payment. I would not send anymore money until we spoke with them. At this point we tried to pull up the contact in the. Email that was sent. The website is gone their email is gone. Yes we should have printed the contract but we thought we would have it in my daughters email. But all was deleted. We requested that our deposit be returned since it was ovious we could not rely on them to do the wedding. She then told my daughter that we were the ones that were backing out not her. We did some research and found that we are not the first person they have done this to. They got all the money from one person and just never showed up at the wedding. Thank goodness this did not happen to us. I have texted her many times asking for my deposit to be refunded with no reply. Her husband Carlos Avila has also been contacted by my son-in-law and all he would say was let me talk to ***** and I will get back to you, which he never did. The invoice she sent to us in which we paid the deposit from is #******* issued on June 27. I am very saddened that someone could ruin a couple special day like this, but what makes it worse is that my son in law considered her a friend and thought he could trust her. I have told her if she would refund my deposit the issue would be dropped. She will not reply to any type of contact. In the end I would like to have my deposit back. But would also like to stop them from doing this to anyone else. If you could give me some guidance on how to process with this matter it would be greatly appreciated. Thank you
